About Me

I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with my Bachelors in Biology. I worked for the UW-Parkside Tutoring Center for almost four years. This experience has been one of my best, as it helped me interact with many students from different majors. During my second year as a tutor, I was promoted to the lead math tutor position. As a lead tutor, I trained incoming math tutors as well as helped my supervisor plan the different tutor meetings. My experience as a tutor has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Students often gave me positive feedback on my tutoring techniques, and I've seen many of them succeed in their classes after using the tutoring center and getting my help. I think the best qualities in a tutor are patience and empathy. As a tutor, I've always tried to put myself in the student's shoes and try to find different methods of explaining the same material until I am certain that my student feels comfortable with the given material.
