I graduated from the University of Virginia in May 2012 (in three years) with a B.A. in Computer Science and Foreign Affairs. Now, in my day job, I do strategy work at a large Financial Services firm in the D.C. metro-area.
I have a great deal of tutoring experience with people of all ages, both formally and informally. Among many experiences, I've taught SAT prep in a classroom setting, willed a friend in high school to pass his AP Physics exam by studying with him every day before practice, stayed up many a night in college meticulously editing essays for friends, and been a Big Brother (the program, that is).
My philosophy around tutoring simply revolves around developing a vested interest in students' successes. I have some knowledge to share, whether it be in SAT/ACT test prep, math, writing, or college apps, and it's fun and satisfying being able to empower others to succeed.
In my free time, you'll catch me on my couch (watching a lot of TV -- I'm as sharp-tongued as Lorelai Gilmore), at a pool (playing water polo), at a random sporting event (writing about it for various newspapers), or taking classes (because learning is a never-ending endeavor).
Undergraduate Degree: University of Virginia-Main Campus - Bachelor in Arts, Computer Science, Politics
I'm tremendously passionate about Big Data, analysis and critical thinking, and curated TV.
