I have tutored students in Math, Algebra, English, Spanish and Biology. I also have experience in more advanced areas in Psychology, Statistics and Biology.
I currently work full-time in the medical research field at Emory University. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Tulane University in 2000, and I received my Master of Science degree from the University of New Orleans in 2004.
I have over three years of experience being an in-home tutor, and I enjoy interacting with the students to help them become more motivated about learning and doing well in school. The students I have worked with often had trouble staying organized and some had been diagnosed with attention issues. Using proven organizational techniques and reinforcement of certain study skills, I often saw marked improvement in the students I was helping after just a few sessions.
I can appreciate the needs of parents as well. Being a parent myself, I am familiar with the struggles of keeping a student successful. I believe setting goals with the parents and the child early on will create a situation for the child to succeed.
In my free time I like to watch football, take my family to the movies or go to nearby parks for hiking.
