We covered review problems for the student's test. This included rational expression simplification, graphing, and domain.

For the past few weeks, the student and I have been doing different types of problems from old AP Calculus tests. He seems to respond more effectively when doing the work and being able to see how and why the steps are taken to arrive at the correct solution. I've been compiling a list of questions that appear frequently on the AP test and will do so again next week. He expressed interest in more than one session next week to be fully prepared.

We covered the material that the student did throughout the semester in preparation for her upcoming test. We focused more on the material from the beginning of the semester since the more recent topics were fresher in her mind.

We looked at point-slope and slope-intercept forms of linear equations. We practiced algebraic solutions, graphing, and discussed how the two are connected at length. The student did very well with understanding how we can move back and forth between algebra and geometry. I am very happy with how well the first two sessions have gone. He has been focused, hardworking, and very receptive to the material.

Today, the student and I tackled a large portion of her introduction to proofs section. We worked through her study guide and through the PowerPoint she uses for notes. We also worked through the definitions and examples of conditionals, converses, biconditionals, inverses, and contrapositives. She then did well with the activities on the PowerPoint and the first quiz. She will now continue reviewing the material and doing the practice questions until the next time we meet.

The student's class has started transformations and reflections. The material he had yesterday was just introducing the topic, and he was able to figure out reflecting across a vertical or horizontal line.
