Tutoring review by Melissa in Sanford, FL
During this session, the student and I started out by working on her reading homework, which was about archaeology. This went pretty quickly because the student loves reading. Next, we worked on her math homework. I thought this might go a bit faster than usual -- the main topics the homework focused on were multiplying and dividing large numbers ending in zero, which is a fairly straight forward concept. I explained to her why the tricks work, and I'm sure she really was listening to me (example: if you're dividing 7000 by 700, you can cross out two zeros from each number and then divide 70 by 7; this will enable you to do the division faster. She tried to use this trick with multiplication though.) By the time she worked the end of the session, she was working much faster and she was getting most of the questions right.

During this session we went over the student's challenge questions. There were 4 questions which pushed the ideas of exponent rules, working with radicals and factoring. We ran into troubles with one of questions but then we reached a solution. We had a few minutes to spare and went over chemistry questions on writing chemical formulas. Overall this session went well.

Tutoring review by Natalie in Sanford, FL
The student and I had an excellent session today. We edited her two supplemental essays for two colleges. As they are due within a week and a half, we are making it our focus to complete these essays beforehand. She made great editing choices when looking at the text on her own. We also focused on ensuring that we properly answered each essay question, as well as cutting out sections that did not work specifically with the essays. I am very proud of her work ethic and focus, and I hope that this level of work completion can continue on as it did this week!

Tutoring review by Jackson in Sanford, FL
Today we worked ahead in the student's algebra book. Specifically we worked on exponents. We covered most of the exponent rules when we first began, but I felt that sufficient time had passed to take a second look.
