Donora offers a unique look at clean air with the Donora Smog Museum. Stemming from the smog incident of 1948 that gained national attention the borough invested in the museum, which includes a 1948 time capsule room. The museum brings to life the history of the town from the steel mills to daily life in the past with both permanent and rotating exhibits. Donora schools, sports, clubs, and organizations are represented throughout history with artifacts and old photographs. The museum accepts donations of artifacts that have historical significance to the area for display and also accepts antiques that are not locally significant for sale. Admission to the museum is free, but donations are always welcome. Just a couple blocks from the museum is the Donora Public Library. The library houses microfilm of local newspapers from 1905 through the 1970s. Occasionally the museum also holds special events in the Community Room located in the library. At the end of November each year join the community at the Twinkle Bright Night, a holiday celebration, complete with a sleigh ride, visit from Santa, and town Christmas tree.
