I am a graduate of Arizona State University where I earned my Masters in Emergency Management/Homeland Security and my Bachelors in Psychology. I love working with students and watching their passion grow for learning as they start to understand new concepts. I have experience in building individual lesson plans, as well as experience teaching in a classroom. I am excited to get to know you and help you on the road to academic success!

I am a big sports fan so I spend a large portion of my free time playing or watching either basketball, golf or baseball.

I have elementary and middle certifications, as well as certifications to teach history and English at the high school level. I have also undergone numerous trainings in teaching both common core math and Language arts.

I am a lifelong learner and love helping others enjoy learning. Languages are my passion and I help students succeed by putting lessons in a real-world context. Whenever possible, I use film clips, journal articles, songs and literature, so that my students begin to think in the new language and not simply memorize words in a textbook! I graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelors in International Studies and a minor in French, and I have spent time living in both France and French-speaking Swtizerland. I have over five years of teaching and tutoring experience and have worked with students of all ages, from elementary to adult. I also have extensive experience teaching English to speakers of other languages and enjoy making my own language accessible to those wanting to learn it. I am a patient and enthusiastic instructor and I look forward to sharing my love of French and English.

I'm originally from Chile and Spanish was my first language. I moved to the US when I was four years old, but never lost sight of my Spanish. Fortunately, I spoke Spanish every day of my life at home and that continued throughout college when I studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain for a semester. Today, I work as a bilingual writer for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I enjoy my sharing my native language with others and encouraging a deeper understanding of Latin American culture. I tutored students throughout college and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I look forward to hearing from you!
