About Me

I am a doctorate level biochemist and have been teaching chemistry, biology, and anatomy/physiology for the past 5 years at the university level. I received a B.S. in chemistry from Norfolk State University and a M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. I love tutoring science! Biology and chemistry are my passion because they help explain the world around us. Everything we see, hear, taste, smell, and feel can be attributed to biology and chemistry. I believe all students possess the aptitude to be successful, and through positive interactions this potential can be attained. Also, by establishing an educational environment of communal interaction, students can better develop critical thinking and problem solving skills and overall academic development will be improved. My teaching style includes establishing a firm foundation in scientific concepts and building up each student, step-by-step, until our goals have been met or exceeded. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, sports, good conversation, and learning new things.
