What grade are they currently in?

Alfredo is a wonderful teacher. My 7 year old son is able to focus on the lesson for the full hour because Alfredo makes if fun to learn Spanish. The sessions are recorded so we can go back and review and also see how well they interact together. Alfredo is also very willing to work with our schedule which changes frequently and he always makes time for our son's lessons.

Spanish Tutoring review by Amanda in Greene County, OH
Today, we covered a lot of ground with commands and direct object/indirect object pronouns. We first completed the student's hw problems. Then, we spent time on an exercise I brought that helped him identify the subject, direct object, and indirect object for sentences in English. We then did an exercise I brought that practiced the same concept, but in Spanish. This exercise also included tacking on the pronouns to conjugated verbs and verbs in the infinitive. I feel we made great progress today in the student's understanding of this grammar point. I asked him to organize his papers into a binder and finish his preterite practice by our Thursday session.

The session went well. The student had 3 pages of homework dealing with vocabulary associated with travel and means of transportation and how to ask for directions. She was very happy because she got an "A" on a story that we put together and she had to draw the pictures of the story, like a cartoon.

Today, we covered important conversational exercises and grammatical structures related to the subjunctive mood and the use of the present indicative. We covered vocabulary that is essential to the student's class at the moment and also learned new supplemental vocabulary that will help her develop a better command of the subjunctive mood. I left her with a reading assignment related to adjectives most commonly used on resumes.

The student and I reviewed her study guide for her upcoming test on Wednesday. She expressed to me that she was unsure about asking questions in the preterite, superlatives, and algun(o/a)/ningun (o/a). We reviewed the topics and did some practice quizzes. I will be developing my own practice test for her so that she can practice further.

Spanish Tutoring review by Jessica in Greene County, OH
We reviewed a quiz the student took last week on places and directions. We went over the nosotros command conjugations and did some practices in his book and workbook. I quizzed him on the vocabulary, giving him techniques to better remember the words, and I offered him websites to make electronic flash cards that can also be used on an app for his phone. On a quiz we previously prepared for, he earned a B, so he has shown a better understanding of the subjunctive. We practiced giving and receiving written directions and completed some vocabulary activities in the book. I assigned him two practice activities from the book to practice the nosotros command to prepare for a quiz coming up on Thursday.
