I love teaching students about literature and writing. I graduated from Valparaiso University with a B.A. in Englsih after attending the University of Chicago for two years of my undergraduate studies. I was a high school English teacher for seven years in Indiana before relocating to Ohio this November. I taught in a fairly large public school English 9 and Composition, helping students with literature, writing, grammar, and speaking/listening skills. I designed and implemented writing assignments for my students, providing assistance throughout the entire process. I'm very familiar with To Kill a Mockingbird and Romeo & Juliet, along with numerous other pieces of literature. I love to read, and I participate in volunteer work for my religion. I lalso enjoy going to concerts, my last one being The Avett Brothers.

I am a Junior at the University of Maryland-College Park double majoring in Psychology and Sociology. After completing my undergrad, I hope to attain a doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Child and Adolescent Psychology. I am very passionate about personal growth and mental health and believe that education is absolutely necessary for a quality life. I hope to preach the importance of academic growth and my appreciation for it to all of my future students! My favorite subjects to teach are elementary-level math and reading as well as writing and art. I am a very creative person with a great sense of imagination, and hope to make your learning experiences memorable!

I have over seven years of tutoring experience in an array of subjects. I'm incredibly excited to be a tutor and to have an impact on your learning and academic success. Having a diverse set of interests has allowed me to understand how all of us can find new things to be curious about, only if were given the chance to explore and to let our knowledge thrive.

I grew up in a school that didn't believe in adjusting to student learning styles. I always felt like I was stupid because I struggled every year, while my classmates seemed to understand everything I couldn't! Turns out, I had undiagnosed ADHD! Now, diagnosed in my 30s, and with 3 children of my own, I work hard to advocate for creativity and student empowerment in classrooms. Learning doesn't HAVE to be a struggle! Learning SHOULD be fun! I know first hand how hard it is to try and force your brain to absorb information in ways it simply isn't designed to. So, my goal is to break that cycle, to inject positivity, hope, creativity, and passion into learning. Every student deserve the chance to learn and grow in the way that makes sense to THEM! While I teach a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Math, Literature and Science. With helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) in understanding a variety of mathematical strategies. I hope to continue igniting a passion for learning for each student I encounter, no matter where they are at in their learning journey. In my spare time, I enjoy dabbling in new experiences and learning. From taking cooking classes to attempting Jui Jitzu!

I am a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor's Degree in International Affairs, with a concentration in Applied Languages, and a minor in Classical Studies, in the Latin language. I was originally a theater major and very much still enjoy the theater and volunteer to help build sets when I can. I changed my major because I wanted a more active role helping people, which has always been my passion.I eventually began volunteering at a church teaching English to speakers of other languages and I loved it so much that I soon became a certified ESL instructor. I love teaching and helping others reach their goals and bettering their lives.I believe that education is vital in today's world. It is not just for passing classes, but also for enhancing one's life with new ideas and critical thinking.I look forward to contributing to your educational and personal growth in any way I can!
