I graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor's Degree is Business Management with an emphasis in Human Resources Management. It's a mouthful, I know, but I hope that this degree will help me achieve my goals of being a helper. Management is all well and good, but I truly love working with people and helping them achieve their goals, whatever it may be. Before attending WSU, I went to Spokane Falls Community College where I worked as a peer tutor for math subjects approved up through Calculus I, and also worked one quarter as a Writing Tutor. I loved being there and noticing as the students started to understand the subjects more and more and needed my input less and less. That is my ultimate goal with any student - to impart my knowledge and passion in such a way that they understand the subject matter and eventually have no need for me anymore!Outside of tutoring, I am a huge nerd. I love Japanese anime, and attend anime conventions in my spare time. I am very loyal to Nintendo and am currently counting down the time until the next Legend of Zelda game comes out. I also love to read, write, and cuddle with my two Halloween bookend kitties.

I spent the last two and a half years working in Costa Rica at a bilingual school while also pursuing my passion to learn Spanish and work with non-native English speakers. Two of my greatest strengths are helping students make sense of math, and working with students who are non-native English speakers. As a Pre-Law track student I also studied Philosophy, Logic, Government and Political Theory. I have spent an extended period of time studying at La Universidad Santa Maria in Santiago, Chile.I originally found a passion for education while working as a Student Teacher at my undergraduate university. I worked closely with university level students in order to guide them through various projects and assignments. I was also asked to give lectures and exams when professors were absent.I am currently volunteering as a legal advisor and translator for World Relief Spokane which provides assistance to immigrants moving to the United States.In addition to volunteering I dedicate a substantial portion of my time to applying to law school for the Fall of 2022. My goal is to work as legal council for the Department of Justice in one of its many overseas capacities.When I am not focusing on work or school, I enjoy furthering my love for learning languages by improving my Portuguese and Mandarin.

I am a recent graduate of Gonzaga University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Communication Studies. Now I am currently enrolled in Gonzaga's Marriage and Family Counseling graduate program. Throughout my four years of undergraduate work, I volunteered with a mentoring program called Campus Kids. In my time with the program I gained great experience assisting 4th-6th grade kids in Math, Science, and English. I am passionate about helping kids work through difficult tasks in order to come out on the other side with a better understanding. I believe that tutoring helps kids truly enjoy the material which plays a massive impact on their academic experience. Outside of working with kids I love to hike, play/watch sports, and do puzzles. Overall I am a very upbeat, energetic person but I know how to relate to kids with all different personalities. I look forward to getting the chance to work with kids to make schoolwork more fun.

My fiction and articles have been published in literary magazines and trade publications alike. Language is my passion, from fiction to academic essays, and I believe that everyone can find the same passion, whether it's in grammar, poetry, or the stories we have to tell.
