Varsity Tutors can help take your Boston NCLEX preparation to a whole new level with two great services. First, we provide a comprehensive Boston NCLEX prep course that allows you to study everything you need to know on the exam in a structured, online learning environment. Or, we can find you a professional Boston NCLEX tutor in as little as 24 hours who can provide personalized instruction as you work towards your goals. Both services are very valuable, and some students decide to take advantage of both to feel especially prepared on test day.
The NCLEX (or National Council Licensure Examination) is a standardized test that comes in two different flavors: the NCLEX-RN for prospective Registered Nurses and NCLEX-PN for prospective Practical (or Vocational) Nurses. Both tests cover all of the topics you have been studying at a local nursing school such as Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences or the University of Massachusetts - Boston, so there's a lot of material to review before test day. Contact us to get expert assistance preparing for either of these exams today.
What subjects are covered in a typical Boston NCLEX prep regimen?
While there are two separate NCLEX exams, there is considerable overlap in the topics they cover. For example, you need to brush up on infection control, general patient care, pharmacology, and physiological adaptation to take either test. A professional instructor can provide real-world examples to help these topics feel a little bit less abstract, potentially making them easier to internalize.
Both tests also utilize computerized adaptive technology, or CAT. It might sound complicated, but it just means that the NCLEX is a computer-based test where the system selects questions as a real-time response to the answers you've provided thus far. The length of each test is variable as a result, with the NCLEX-RN lasting for 75-265 questions while the NCLEX-PN has 85-205 items. You have a total of six hours for the NCLEX-RN and five for the NCLEX-PN, though you don't need to stay at the testing center for the entire duration if you finish faster. If you get nervous during standardized tests, your instructor can teach you meditation techniques to help you calm your nerves during your exam.
What advantages do each of your Boston NCLEX prep options offer?
As mentioned above, we can enroll you in a Boston NCLEX prep class or find you an academic mentor to help you pursue your goals. Should you opt for a class, you'll study on our proprietary Live Learning Platform with a knowledgeable instructor and a group of other students preparing for the NCLEX. Powerful features such as video chat functionality create the illusion that you're all in the same room, giving you a great study experience even if your instructor is on the other side of the country.
Studying in a group can also prove very beneficial. Not only can you split the bill multiple ways to get more value for your money, you can also establish a collaborative learning environment that offers plenty of ways to further your understanding of academic concepts. For example, let's say you're having some difficulty with microbiological concepts. One of your classmates might be able to share a mnemonic device to help you remember everything you're supposed to. Similarly, you can explain a concept to somebody else to help them out while improving your own understanding of the subject.
If you feel like you would do better with individualized attention, a private instructor may be more your speed. You will be able to meet with the instructor we recommend to you on our Live Learning Platform, giving you all of the benefits of face-to-face instruction without worrying about a commute or cleaning the house. If you're more old-fashioned, we can also find you somebody willing to meet at a local library, restaurant, or your own home for added convenience. The choice is yours.
No matter where you end up meeting, a private instructor can design study sessions around your preferred learning style to enhance their efficacy. If you're an auditory learner, your instructor can place vocal emphasis on key concepts to help them stick in your mind. If you're more of a visual person, you might use flashcards to remember all of the vocabulary a nurse is expected to understand.
Can I sign up for professional Boston NCLEX prep right now?

...also worked extensively teaching swim lessons for the past five years, particularly to beginners. Both in and out of the pool, I believe that a good lesson is one where the student is doing the thinking. I teach interactively, asking questions, listening to students. explanations, and probing students to produce the correct answer for themselves. I want to model thinking and questioning strategies that will allow a student to be successful without a tutor; I...

As a master's student and former medical student, I know how challenging academics can be. I also know how having a helping hand, a guidance through the confusion, can help one gain confidence in themselves to excel. From tutoring children to post-graduates, I have seen that all students (no matter their age, level of education, strengths, weaknesses, etc.) who are willing to learn can succeed. ... In a typical first session, the student and I usually discuss their goals and what specifically they would like to improve over time.
