...is Adam Lewis LaValley. I am an AVID tutor, substitute teacher, entrepreneur, and author. I currently have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, but have a diverse knowledge of multiple subjects, my favorite being the social sciences and English. Specializing with AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, allows me to work with individuals of varying backgrounds. Fun facts about me: I love American and Japanese history, animation, baguettes, coffee, and large books.

I am from Minneapolis and currently live in the Eagan, Minnesota. I lived in the Chicago are for four years. I have an undergraduate degree in Geography and History from the University of Minnesota, a master of science in Geographic Information Science from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. I started a Doctorate of Education from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. I held an adjunct instruction in the past teaching Geography at Rasmussen College.

I am a recent graduate of Georgetown University. I majored in Mandarin Chinese, and minored in Justice and Peace Studies. I see myself as a self-directed and intrinsically motivated lifelong learner. I hope to work with students to broaden their learning strategies and help them save time by learning to study smarter, not harder. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy going on long bike rides, sipping tea, watching Chinese movies, and listening to live music.
