I'm a graduate of Penn State University, Honors College, and an adjunct professor at a few different NYC area schools, with over 15 years of experience as a writer, educator, and creative director. Throughout my career, clear communication has been at the heart of everything I do, whether that's crafting national ad campaigns, editing essays, or helping students sharpen their voice on the page.
I've worked with learners of all kinds: middle schoolers struggling to make sense of a novel, high schoolers preparing for the AP U.S. History exam, and college-bound seniors trying to turn a personal story into a standout application essay. What unites all of them (and all great tutoring) is the moment when the light goes on and a student suddenly gets it.
I tutor English, Writing, U.S. and Ancient History, and College Prep, especially personal statements and essay development. These are the subjects I'm most passionate about because they aren't just academic. They're tools for expression, understanding, and future success. My favorite sessions are the ones where students start with a vague idea and finish with something clear, confident, and uniquely theirs.
My tutoring style is thoughtful, flexible, and practical. I adapt each session to the way a student thinks, whether they're analytical, visual, intuitive, or just need a different way in. I believe students do best when they feel heard, respected, and challenged at the right pace.
Outside of tutoring, I'm a working writer and filmmaker, which keeps me creatively engaged and always learning. I bring that same curiosity and energy into every session.
