I am an English teacher who is passionate about helping students grow in their abilities to comprehend and deeply analyze texts, to write with clarity and complexity, and to feel confident using the conventions of written English!

I have been teaching English for eight years. Seven of those were spend at the secondary level, where I taught high school English, including AP English Language and Composition. I have also taught 7th grade ELA and first-year writing at the college level.

I have my undergraduate degree in English Literature from Vanderbilt University, a Master's in English Studies, a Master's in Education, and I am currently working on my PhD in English Literature.

I believe all students can learn and that a growth mindset is essential. I also believe students learn best when they feel comfortable with their teacher, so I strive to create a safe space where students know I believe in them. I approach tutoring lessons with positivity, belief in each student's abilities, and a willingness to help in any way I can.
