I graduated BSN in the Philippines in 2008. After graduation, I moved back with my family in the US. However, getting licensed was not easy. I had to study for English exam and the NCLEX, even though I was already proficient in English. I failed the NCLEX twice. I was devastated, but I was determined to pass, so I put all my efforts in studying. I finally passed on the 3rd try, at 75 questions.

I got licensed in the US in 2009 and worked a RN in various settings. I started in a subacute rehab nursing home, then moved to a major hospital in New Jersey. I worked as a float nurse on the inpatient psych unit, telemetry, and med surg. I eventually went on to pursue my MSN, specializing in psychiatric mental health nursing. I graduated from Walden University in 2019 as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I am now practicing for 5 years as an APRN.

I have a lot of experience teaching and orienting other nurses, whether they are new to the job or NP students still in school. For me, I like to learn visually and be hands-on. I use these methods as well when I teach other nurses. I would like to extend my knowledge and experience in helping other nursing students, whether they are a new grad or a student in graduate school. I like to explain ideas and concepts through my experiences and past mistakes.
