I am a graduate of Oxford and Sarah Lawrence, where I received my Bachelors in Writing, Romance Languages, and Social Science. I'm also a published historian. I've provided feedback and proofreading for expository writing, creative writing, and academic essays for years and am currently an ESL Tutor for young Ukrainians hoping to improve their English. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, History, and French. In my experience helping students prepare for Standardized Tests, we always seem to have the most fun prepping for the Critical Reading and Writing portions of the exams, where we create a personalized strategy based on the student's strengths and weaknesses when it comes to reading comprehension. My tutoring style revolves around personalization to the student - at the first session, we'll chat about your strengths and hobbies and use these as a way of accessing your target subject - are you a huge movie fan who needs to improve your French grades? We'll use dubs to improve your listening skills. Are you a musician hoping to improve in History? We'll use music as a primary source (the subject of my academic paper) to figure out what learning style works best for you and how to achieve your academic goals. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, and volunteering at a local food pantry.
