I'm a US History enthusiast with a side hobby of Science! I earned a BA in History at Gettysburg College - yes, that Gettysburg, the one in PA - and have since worked or volunteered in several historic museums. My short list would be the USS Constitution Museum, the Eisenhower National Historic Site, and the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in DC. My longest museum stint, though, was at the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore MD - almost eight years as an educator there, working in nearly every exhibit they have.
I'm a big believer that learning is for everyone, and that everyone has the ability and right to learn in the way we find best.
I am looking to tutor middle and high school students in US History and/or Government, and also in Science topics. I am a very informal, conversational teacher, who prefers talking with a student to lecturing at them. Hands on experiences preferred, or at least working on problems together rather than just doing the whole blah blah blah thing at your face.
