The environments I grew up in (Iran and for a period of two years in England, Sheffield) were the first inspirations and fruitful settings for me to become interested in learning languages and becoming aware of social matters relating to languages. Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to study in two different languages and settings and this was of a great help for me to make up my mind about my future education. Since my childhood, due to my family situation, I have been constantly in contact with different people with different languages and social backgrounds. Observing carefully the languages spoken around me and different social environments, I gradually became interested in exploring the relationship between languages and societies.
My B.A. program in English Translation at BASU University (in Iran), greatly inspired and motivated me because from then I started to learn and teach English academically, further the program provided me with the opportunity to become more familiar with and interested in "Linguistics".
On the other hand, I have always been looking for ways to express myself in other ways more than academia. It was the reason that I began to teach music and English using different methodologies of language teaching like "suggestopedia" several times. In addition to my academic music experience, I also have a substantial background in performances and music-related employment. I was cooperating with Tehran International School (TIS) in Iran as a Music(Art) Teacher and General English Instructor. I have also taken out a patent on the "Kamalin" instrument, which I invented by combining the violin and the fiddle.
Immediately after completing my undergraduate education, achieving a high rank in the nationwide Master's Entrance Exam in the country, I entered the department of Linguistics at Shahid Beheshti University (in Iran). This program was an enormous leap in my life, it has given me a great chance to pursue my study in my favourite field of study. By dedicating myself to intense study, joining classes in other schools and getting help from professors specialized in the field, I managed to improve my knowledge of the field and make progress.
My research interests mainly lie in the field of sociolinguistics. Realizing the importance of social networks and the abundant scope of research in this area, I conducted a research as my M.A. thesis.
Having completed my M.A. program, I was admitted to Allameh Tabatabai University (in Iran) as a Ph.D. candidate and I continued my educational career for three years with this degree.
