I am a registered nurse with over 35 years of experience primarily focused on emergency/trauma care and a passion for education. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fitchburg State College in Massachusetts and my Master's of Science in Nursing from University of Texas-Houston Heath Sciences. I am retired military, serving 22 years in the U.S. Army. Since becoming a nurse, I have been passionate about teaching and sharing what I know to others including new employees and students in the clinical setting and during my leadership roles. During the last 10 years I have been faculty in a university nursing program, ranked in the top 10 in the nation. I have had the honor of teaching freshman through senior-level students as well as students in the accelerated program. I try to make learning fun and I strive to make the material understandable so that it sticks. I am not super-duper fast at learning myself, but I ask questions and dig deep until it sticks.
