Hi! My name is Sonal Rajpal and I am a current sophomore studying health sciences at Virginia Commonwealth University, currently working towards a Bachelor's in Science followed by an MD. I have been a longtime employee of Kumon Math and Reading Learning Center working with children ages 3-17. I absolutely loved seeing the look of relief when a topic finally clicked in my student's mind, which led me to further advance my skills in educating children. To gain more experience, I spent some time working at a local preschool and teaching high school students how to write essays and prepare for college applications/exams.

At this time, I am willing to tutor any subject at the high school level and below, along with preparation for college essays and acceptance tests. My favorite subject to tutor is math, because contrary to popular opinion, it is the most enjoyable subject to me. My teaching philosophy follows the lines of practice makes perfect! For my students, I always make sure they understand the concept and are able to apply it to practice scenarios in multiple variations.

Outside of academia, I love to be active by dancing and playing sports such as field hockey, running, and swimming. I am from an area close to the beach so I spend a lot of my free time there with my family and friends. I'm so excited to meet students and help them grow in school and social aspects, as well!
