I have two degrees in creative writing -- a BA from the University of California, Riverside, and an MFA from Eastern Washington University. During my time in graduate school, I worked one-on-one and in classroom settings with students at the undergraduate and high school levels to help them become better writers. My fiction and articles have been published in literary magazines and trade publications alike. Language is my passion, from fiction to academic essays, and I believe that everyone can find the same passion, whether it's in grammar, poetry, or the stories we have to tell.
Undergraduate Degree: University of California-Riverside - Bachelor in Arts, Creative Writing
Graduate Degree: Eastern Washington University - Master of Fine Arts, Creative Writing
I spend a lot of my time reading both fiction and nonfiction, and love everything from Toni Morrison to Tom Robbins to Mary Roach. When not reading and writing, I enjoy cooking and jamming out on the drums (and occasionally the guitar).
