Experimental physicist graduated from the University of Catania, PhD candidate in biophysics at the University of Dundee, and space pirate currently based on planet earth.

I was part of the PHOQUS project, working with optical tweezers for biological applications. After having failed to evolve my optical tweezers into light-sabres, I devolved my spare time to science communication.

Sometime along the way, I have lived in Belgium, studying photovoltaics, and in Germany, doing a bit of chemistry.

I sporadically write on my blog, newoldscience.com, and I love to spread enthusiasm for STEM subjects.
