I enjoy a challenge in my classes, curriculum, and work. I have focused my classes around my interests, and because of this, I have been able to take a few laboratory components that were optional for my major. Although many of the lab courses were difficult, these classes gave me the opportunity to see concepts I was learning more clearly and brought the ideas to life. The lab sessions made me more eager to continue exploring what the classes can truly provide. It quickly became my favorite part of the day, and I always look forward to spending time in the lab.

In the last few years, I have had the chance to be involved in different opportunities that enabled me to discover what I am truly passionate about and define my strengths. I have been able to do volunteer work, both at Humboldt State University and with other organizations such as the Sierra Nevada Aquatic Research Lab and the Mono Lake Committee. While there I was working with biologists and Ph.D. students assisting with their research.
