What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is that tutoring should be both fun and informational. I believe each student is an individual and that it is important to work with him or her to find the best learning style. I am a strong believer in the power of positive reinforcement and working together with my students to achieve their academic goals.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
During my first session with a student, I would take time to review what we had talked about in terms of their educational goals and the material they are working on right now. I would have checked with them beforehand to make sure I had researched the topic or looked over materials as thoroughly as possible, so we could begin working on the subject matter together as quickly as possible.
