Teaching and tutoring are my passions because I love sharing information and learning with others and helping to provide the support that all children need to achieve their goals. I love working with teachers, children, and families to increase opportunities for success.
I have worked in the education field for eleven years. For nine years, I worked at a public community charter school with non-profit status in Tucson, Arizona. I served as a lead teacher in grades PreK-3rd grade and directed the after-school program, which served students in grades K-9, for five years. This after-school program focused on providing tutoring for students of all ages. I also founded the Pre-K program at that school and served as its director for four years. The program continues today. Not only did I work as an educator at that public school, I also served as the state licensing coordinator, the professional development coordinator, a Professional Learning Community coach, and a member of the executive team.
I have taught English as a Second Language (ESL) to students in Tucson as well as in Japan. The students whom I taught ESL in Tucson were preschool and school-aged, and my students in Japan were preschoolers, school-aged children, and adults. I have also served as the lead teacher of two different preschools.
I have also served as a tutor for 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 9th graders, preparing these students for the reading portions of standardized tests as well as helping them with history, reading, math, and science homework.
I look forward to continuing to help children develop and reach their educational goals!
