I am a graduate of Connecticut College where I majored in government with minors in education and architectural studies. I have been tutoring in some capacity since middle school. In college I volunteered every semester as a tutor in the local public schools and I also spent a semester student teaching in a third grade classroom. I really enjoy tutoring students in both english and math. While I always excelled in math, I know this is an area in which many students struggle. In middle and high school my peers would often come to me with their math questions because I was able to understand their confusion and help them move past it. I have continued to improve this skill and I delight in seeing the aha moment when one of my student understand a difficult math concept. I also enjoy tutoring in english and reading because these are subjects I am very passionate about. In my spare time you can often find me with a book. I want my students to have that same love of reading and thirst for information. If I’m not reading, you can often find me in a museum, especially the Air and Space museum.
