I graduated cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Literature, minor in Theatre Arts: Technical Track. After that, I earned my Teaching Certification in Secondary English from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. I have worked in a myriad of educational programs, from enrichment programs for homeschool students to tutoring high school students while they produced their senior projects to summer programs for students to earn class credit for classes they didn’t pass during the year. I also substitute taught for three years. I tutor secondary english, which includes such things as literature, essay writing, public speaking, creative writing, and anything else that would fall under the language arts umbrella. When working with students, I don’t worry about where they “should” be, instead I focus on where they are, and where they want to go. Two things I find especially rewarding are helping a student discover their own unique writing style, and helping a student to overcome anxiety in public speaking. Outside of school, I enjoy playing video games, watching football, and collecting comics. I also write speculative fiction, and have published several short stories.
