For many students, especially those with learning disabilities, ADHD, or differences in how they process information, this path can feel intimidating or out of reach. My mission as a tutor and mentor is to make the journey into medicine structured, attainable, and empowering by providing individualized academic support from high school through the premedical years, with a specific focus on MCAT preparation and long term success. I specialize in MCAT focused tutoring and premedical academic mentorship, working with motivated students who aspire to enter medicine and other health professions. In addition to content mastery, I emphasize executive function coaching. Many capable students struggle not because they lack intelligence, but because they lack structure. I work with students to create realistic study schedules, break large goals into achievable steps, track progress, and build consistent routines. I am a student of the University of Central Florida currently dual majoring in Digital Media and Creative Writing while minoring in Computer Science. As a tutor for Varsity Tutors, I have the unique ability to be able to combine two of my greatest passions--writing, and helping others. This is a combination of interests that I've been working with for a while now whether in High School tutoring children from my old elementary school, mentoring middles schoolers and high schoolers as part of Write Away, and tutoring college students on essay writing with Tutor.com. When it comes to tutoring, I specialize in reading and writing, though find my preference to be mostly in writing as it is a subject I am both strong in as well as take a personal interest in as an aspiring writer. Outside of writing stories, however, interests of mine including consuming media of all types such as books, movies, television shows, or video games, enjoying all so long as they have good stories to back them up.

I am a graduate of Brown University with a Bachelors Degree in Biology and Yale University with a Masters in Public Health. I also hold a Level 5 certification in TEFL. I am passionate about working with children and students of all ages to assist them in achieving their highest potential. My favorite subjects to teach are phonics, reading, science and math. My approach is to meet the students where they are at in their studies and make their learning experience fun, interactive, engaging and exciting. I grew up in the Boston area and now live in Citrus County, Florida. I graduated from MIT in chemical engineering and worked for many years as a chemical process engineer, so I have a strong background in math and science, especially chemistry and thermodynamics. I've also been granted six U.S. patents. When the pandemic hit us, I moved to Florida and did part-time work as a chess tutor, then became a substitute teacher in the middle and high schools in our district. I enjoyed working with the students, many of whom had difficulty learning in big classes with many disruptions. I found that I could best help these students by using real-world examples to teach difficult concepts in a new way. Often, then, the student would come away with a new perspective and a much better understanding of the concept. I was happy to be able to help. These days as a VT tutor, I continue to use, whenever possible, real-world examples in my own material in chemistry and thermodynamics.
