I am currently studying Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida, where I have just finished my sophomore year. After graduation, I hope to attend medical school, and one day become a physician. For over a year, I have been tutoring my peers in chemistry and anatomy & physiology through a peer tutoring program at my university. My favorite subject to tutor is by far chemistry, because it is extremely rewarding to help a student understand a difficult concept and then watch them be able to work though problems and apply those concepts on their own. I believe that students can only succeed if they understand the purpose of what they are learning, so I always make it a point to explain the "why" behind important concepts and ideas. This way, the student can develop a strong foundation of knowledge and can become more confident in their understanding of the subject. In my free time, I enjoy working out, reading exciting novels, and exploring my home city of Miami, Florida.

My own teaching philosophy has evolved from this famous quote by John Wesley: "Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all people you can. As long as ever you can." Every teaching job I take on is an outflow from this statement. The pedagogical strategies I use, the learning strategies I implement for students, the instructional planning and assessment I put forth for learners, is a natural outflow from this initial belief in helping others. It's the reason I entered teaching in the first place. Without this core belief, I would not have chosen to become a teacher. The learning process is never the same for every student. Therefore, my consistent goal is to promote transformative learning by "speaking" to each student in a language he or she can understand, whether that language be visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or through reading/writing. My background of working in special needs classes has impressed upon me the necessity of addressing the specific learning requirements of each individual student as often as possible. I seek to create an environment in every tutoring session where learning is encouraged and supported, and an atmosphere of respect between the student and the instructor exists. I believe that this trust must be present in order for learning to take place. Thank you so much! Hope to see you in class soon. :)

I am a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biblical & Theological Studies. Since I graduated, I spent a month in Haiti as a team intern with Haitian Christian Mission. I also spent a year working as a preschool teacher. Now, I work with middle, high school, and college students at Thrive Community Church. I love tutoring English and Reading because I am passionate about what those subjects can do for a person both in school and in one's personal life. Reading has unlocked so many worlds and ideas for me. Learning becomes easier when the subject becomes relevant to life outside of school as well as when a student is able to gain confident in their own ability to think through a problem. In my free time, I like going to rock concerts, reading, and playing video games.

I am a certified teacher who has experience teaching math to all different types of students from ages 7 to 17, including those with ADHD and autism. I delight in seeing confidence bloom in students when they master a math concept that formerly had them frustrated and ready to give up. My favorite math concepts are Algebraic expressions and equations. I also believe in reinforcing fundamental math skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division (without using a calculator).

As a clinical research pharmacist, I have had the privilege of working in a field that combines the worlds of science and public health. My role involves preparing investigational drugs for patients in clinical trials. This work is critically important for ensuring that patients receive the best possible care, and that drugs are safe and effective. Prior to my work as a clinical research pharmacist, I also worked as a compounding and retail pharmacist. These experiences gave me the opportunity to develop my skills as a healthcare provider and to develop an understanding of the importance of patient-centered care. I am passionate about the concept of individualized medicine and the importance of taking into account a patient's unique needs and circumstances. I received my doctor of pharmacy degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2010, and since then, I have been committed to continuing my education and staying up-to-date with the latest developments in my field. I believe that it is essential for pharmacists to continue learning throughout their careers, not only to stay current with new medical advancements, but also to be better equipped to help patients who may be facing complex health challenges. In addition to my work in pharmacy, I am also passionate about teaching and tutoring others. I believe that education is key to improving health outcomes, and that when patients are well-informed about their conditions and the medications they are taking, they are better able to participate in their own care. I have a deep love for teaching, and am always inspired by the opportunity to share what I know with others. On a personal note, I am a family guy with two beautiful daughters. Spending time with my family is one of my greatest joys in life, and I cherish the moments we get to share together, whether it's traveling to new places, trying new foods, or playing music together. These experiences remind me of the importance of connecting with others, and of the joy that can be found in the simple pleasures of life. In conclusion, my work as a clinical research pharmacist has given me a unique perspective on the intersection of science and healthcare. I am passionate about helping patients receive the best possible care, and I believe that my commitment to continuing education and my love for teaching make me a valuable asset to the healthcare community. Outside of work, I am a proud family man who finds joy in spending time with his loved ones and exploring the world around him.

Many hold degrees or have advanced study in their tutoring subjects. All tutors are vetted for knowledge and teaching ability, ensuring you're learning from someone who truly understands the material and how to explain it effectively.

PBA alumni tutors are particularly strong in areas aligned with the university's academic programs, including business, theology, psychology, biology, chemistry, and general education courses. However, Varsity Tutors can connect you with qualified tutors across virtually any subject—whether you need help with core classes, major-specific coursework, or test preparation. Your first session is a chance for you and your tutor to get to know each other and identify your specific needs. The tutor will likely assess your current understanding, discuss your goals, and learn about your learning style. From there, they'll create a personalized plan tailored to your strengths and challenges, so every session after that is focused and productive.

One-on-one tutoring lets your tutor focus entirely on your learning, adjusting pace and teaching methods to match how you learn best. This personalized approach is especially valuable for challenging PBA courses where group lectures might leave gaps in understanding. Research shows that personalized instruction significantly accelerates learning and helps students build mastery faster than traditional classroom settings alone.
