I am a licensed physician from Florida who is currently changing careers. I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009 and have extensive tutoring and editing experience. While a student, I became a certified writing tutor through the Critical Writing Department. Since I completed my writing requirement at the University prior to matriculating, I was the first freshman tutor to be accepted into this selective program. The tutoring program involved a preliminary peer-tutor training course prior to beginning tutoring, in order to certify that I had the appropriate background to provide professional feedback to fellow students on their literary works and projects. After graduation, I worked for a full-service learning center where I created and implemented high school lesson plans for home-schooled students, provided academic support for students ranging in ages from 8 to 20 years old, and taught group and individual standardized testing preparation classes. I have also assisted students with application essays for various undergraduate and graduate programs.

I am an incoming medical student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. I graduated from Rice University in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Medical Humanities and Business.

I am a current undergraduate student at Duke University seeking a major in neuroscience and a possible minor in literature or chemistry. I have been tutoring higher level courses since the beginning of high school, and although I tutor in a variety of subjects, I specialize in writing, English, and essay editing (especially IB Extended Essays or college essays). I also help students with standardized testing, particularly in the SAT Reading portion of the exam. I am a recent graduate from the University of Florida. I completed my studies in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience and have minors in statistics and business administration. I am currently going on to obtain a Master in Computational Social Science at the University of Chicago. I am passionate about research, data collection, and analysis in the area of cognitive psychology. My specialties lie in Psychology and Statistics and I have a very strong mathematical foundation. I have experience working with middle school and high school aged students as a tutor through the national honor society club, which I was a member of as a high school student. My favorite book is "Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett and I recommend that everyone read promptly.

I am a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University studying Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. I tutor many STEM subjects, SAT/ACT prep, and AP/IB classes! In the years past, I've mentored two robotics teams and I have experience tutoring at my school and in my neighborhood. I deeply believe that an intuitive understanding of educational content is crucial to success, and I implement this philosophy by teaching problem-solving techniques and strategies in addition to the material. I am a rising senior at Duke University majoring in Psychology and minoring in English. I first started tutoring when I was 10; I'd explain new words in books to my little sister and help her with cursive, work on times tables with my older brother, and teach the little bit of English I knew to my immigrant parents. I tutored students in my middle school through a counseling program, helped deaf and disabled students develop social and creative skills, and freelance tutored throughout high school, and have tutored Spanish-speaking immigrant families (ages 6-12) in Durham, NC since October 2018. Other teaching experiences include training my dog to go down a slide on command and teaching my 10th-grade precalculus teacher how to hand whistle. Though I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Literature, and Writing. I believe reading and writing are not only complex forms of thinking, but avenues for understanding someone else's unique perspective and ways of being in life. I have the most fun helping my students dissect arguments and meaning from texts, especially when it's in Spanish, my native language. When I'm not tutoring, I most likely am listening to music, playing board games with my family, or looking at cat videos online.

My interest in tutoring began in middle school when I started taking online math classes for more enrichment and exposure. I am a rising senior at Duke University who is Pre Med and majoring in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. I was born and raised in Miami FL and went to public school until college (Sunset Elementary, GW Carver Middle and Coral Reef Senior High for those from Miami). I decided to start tutoring because I would not be on this path had I not had good teachers supporting me along the way.
