I am currently a student at the University of Miami, studying to get my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, with an Electrical Concentration. I have always been mathematically inclined, scoring very highly in all standardized tests in the math and science portions. It is this knowledge and understanding that makes me a great choice to help students learn and understand anything mathematically related.
I am a second year PhD student focusing on Geology. Both my undergraduate and Master's degree are in Geology as well. I fortunately have experience teaching the introductory Geology course (both lab and lecture) and have taught an upper-level Sedimentology course.I understand every student is different and I strive to cater my tutoring style to the individual I am working with.
My favorite subject, mathematics, has a variety of applications in how we live our lives. But most importantly, it reminds me of our their is always more than one way to find the solution to a problem. I hope to get students engaged in the subject we discuss and expand their understanding.
I am working toward my B.S. in Education at the University of Miami, which I will complete this coming May. My degree specializes in a few areas, all within the social sciences: Human and Social Development, Geography, Urban studies, and Sociology. I love working with students one on one, and have even traveled to South Africa to work in after school programs helping middle school students better grasp concepts in English and Math. I tutor a wide variety of subjects in the social sciences, as well as test preparation for high school students who are trying to improve their SAT and ACT scores. These tests are my favorite subjects to help students with because it is satisfying to see measurable improvement in scores that will ultimately help students get into their dream colleges. My philosophy is that all students can succeed if they are motivated to do well and willing to put in the time and effort that it will take to reach the level they want. My job is to give students the basic tools that they need before they can help themselves. Outside of school and work, I love to be outdoors! I enjoy bicycling, yoga, running, and going to the beach on the weekends. I also love traveling, discovering new places and people, and getting to know them.
I am a 22-year-old medical student. In college, I triple majored in Theoretical Mathematics, Computer Science, and Chemistry. My tutoring experience includes over a dozen classes where I was a TA or grader, many of which involved me teaching classes independently. I am looking forward to tutoring hardworking and motivated students who want to challenge themselves.
I am looking to help you with your math and physics questions. I am a graduate student studying hurricane physics and enjoy using my deep understanding of material to help others. Hope to meet you soon!
I am currently a Neuroscience major at the University of Miami, working to eventually obtain my Bachelor of Science. I can tutor anything from standardized high school tests to math and science. I am particularly passionate about teaching math because you can always find a pattern that always leads to a correct answer in every scenario. As a college student, I know what it is like to have gaps in teaching/understanding, and as a tutor I want to work with the student to eventually make that gap in knowledge easier to understand. As a tutor I am very patient, and my teaching style is to ensure the student has a full understanding of the content on their own, without any outside assistance. I hope to obtain this understanding by using repetition and providing practice problems, while making the learning environment as least stressful for the student as possible. I have tutored students for almost 5 years now, and have seen incredible success in the areas that I taught. In my spare time I love to cook, dance, and glass paint.
Hey! My name's Joe. I'm 19, I grew up in Montclair, NJ, but I am at school studying Music Engineering Technology at the University of Miami. I love to learn, and am a naturally curious person. I can't wait to teach!
I am extremely patient and will make sure the student I'm working with truly understands what we're working on. The great thing about tutoring one on one is being able to go at each student's pace and work with their unique learning styles. I'm personally very visual and need to draw a picture to figure out a problem. I enjoy learning about the student's interests and incorporating them into the lesson to make it more fun and interesting. I've been working in education for about 5 years. I taught preschool and 4th grade and have tutored ages 4 to 18. My favorite subject is Math, but I enjoy working with all subjects.
I'm a student at the University of Miami who has a love for both learning and teaching! I love engaging and fun learning environments, while also making sure that academic progress is being made. I enjoy humanities subjects and am a big fan of the IB curriculum. I'm so excited to work with talented and hard-working students, and nurture our love for learning!
Hi! My name is Jose, and I'm a recent graduate of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where I will soon begin my Internal Medicine residency training at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Throughout medical school, I developed a passion not only for medicine, but also for teaching and mentoring students pursuing careers in healthcare. Over the years, I have helped pre-medical students with medical school applications, personal statements, interview preparation, and academic strategy, in addition to tutoring students in biology, biochemistry, physiology, and medical sciences. As a tutor, my goal is not just to help students memorize information, but to truly understand concepts in a way that builds confidence and long-term success. I focus on breaking down difficult topics into clear, manageable steps while adapting my teaching style to each student's individual learning needs. In addition to my academic background, I bring real-world experience from working as a medical assistant, EMT, researcher, and mentor. I understand how stressful and overwhelming competitive academic paths can feel, and I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing. Whether you're preparing for the MCAT, working through challenging science courses, studying for board exams, or looking for guidance on the path toward medicine, I'd be excited to help you reach your goals.
