Hi!Although I am Arizona born and raised, my education includes an NYC law school degree with an undergraduate BS degree from University of Miami. In college I majored in Health Sciences with minors in Psychology and Public Health while in law school I leaned into corporate law and finance. Between law school and college I've pretty much covered every topic under the sun! In my spare time, I enjoy reading (especially mystery novels), pretending I'm a chef, and meditating.I have extensive experience tutoring family and friends at the middle school, high school, and college level in just about every topic, especially math and science courses. As I progressed through law school, my reading and writing skills improved significantly and I've picked up many tricks and tips I wish I could have used in lower school. I have always loved being a student and collaborating with others to make doing homework not only effective but kind of fun! I have an ongoing enthusiasm for learning that I'm so excited to share with you.

I am a freshman at the University of Miami, majoring in Microbiology and Immunology on the pre-med track. I have been tutoring for three years now in a broad range of subjects. My favorite subjects to tutor, though, are biology and math. Tutoring is very rewarding to me because it is a way I can help increase a child's confidence and belief in their own abilities. One important part I incorporate into my teaching is discussion, which, I believe, encourages a student to explore the inner workings of any concept. This allows them to adapt their thinking to new contexts and all sorts of problems as well. Outside of school, I love to sing and read fantasy books.

I started tutoring because I've always had a knack for explaining things to people, and I've gotten good feedback from students I've tutored as well as friends that I've helped. I've been tutoring math and science for a couple of years off and on, and hope to continue helping people because these are subjects that I want to retain knowledge of for as long as possible. I can pretty much tutor any age or experience level, although my favorite is college level calculus II.I like to use visual and kinesthetic methods to explain concepts to students. I focus on ensuring that students really understand the theory behind why we solve problems a certain way versus just memorizing a formula or function. This method has helped a lot of my students become note confident in their problem-solving skills as well as become more able to learn new concepts easier because they have a better understanding of the fundamentals. In addition to general course subjects, I have experience training for math brain bowls, preparing for standardized testing, and studying for the fundamentals of engineering exam.

Hello! My name is Noah Damiani, and I want to take this opportunity to share a little about myself to give you a better idea of my passions, interests, and work ethic. I am currently finishing the last course of my undergraduate career at the University of Miami, and I plan to graduate with my degree in business economics next semester. I have been accepted to the University of Miami School of Law as I plan to pursue my juris doctorate over the next few years.Throughout my undergraduate and professional career, I have become extremely acquainted with business, namely accounting. I am currently working full-time as an accounting manager at a medical consulting distribution company. I am also quite strong in Mathematics and have expertise in Applied Mathematics (linear regressions), Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and Analytical number theory (Pre-Calculus and Calculus). I also have a broad background in the natural sciences, including biology. There are a number of other courses that I have expertise in which I would love to share with you if given the opportunity.I have approximately 3 years of tutoring experience. I was apart of a mentorship program in high school in which I was tasked with assisting students who struggled with their curriculum. I have also tutored acquaintances throughout college over the years. I am impassioned in my belief that the institution of education serves a vital role not only in advancing society, but also in the ability to better one's future. That is the main reason that I have taken an appreciation for tutoring. I, myself, have greatly benefitted from getting tutored. And I feel obligated to pass on my knowledge if given the opportunity to do so.My tutoring style is one of structure and practice. While it will depend on the subject being taught, a general tutor session would consist of reviewing short practice problems assigned to students in a previous session to figure out where their weaknesses are and to address them. I would then move onto the next lesson, keeping pace with their school curriculum or whatever study schedule they are on for a standardized exam. I will provide supplementary materials such as practice problems and notes for students to refresh upon later on. I view tutoring as an extension of the classroom, so I plan to teach the material in a way that incorporates similar strategies to those taught in school. In order to ensure students are motivated in reaching their goals of academic success, I always encourage them for their progress. I will never fault or blame a student for their lack of understanding, but I would instead try to figure out where the source of confusion is coming from.Outside of tutoring, work, and school, I am usually taking my dog on walks or going to the beach. Though I like to keep myself busy with my academic and professional life, I still enjoy trying new things and going new places. It is my hope that you were able to get a good idea of who I am, my expertise, and my strategies for tutoring. Thank you for taking the time to read through my statement, and I look forward to working with you!

My first math lesson was when I was three years old. When I learned how to add numbers, I realized that there are numerous ways to find a solution, which propelled me to math being my favorite subject. I enjoyed seeing how numbers, logic, and operations come together. Now as a college student pursuing a dual degree in Finance and Business Analytics, I need to apply these math concepts into the business world.Out of all the subjects I have taken, math has been the consistent honors class I take every year. In other words, I always take the highest offered math course that school year allows me to take. In my 5th grade honors math class, I got the highest prealgebra pretest grade out of the whole class. While other students scored in the 50s, I got a 82. Since then, I knew math was my passion. I also did math league competitions and math Olympiad throughout middle and high school. I understood everything the teacher said and quickly became a secondary teacher for my classmates outside the classroom. My first tutoring experience took place in high school. While I took the most accelerated math subjects, I assisted others on their lower math subjects-subjects I took years before. I took my interest of math into AP Statistics, AP Calc, and Multivariable Calc and loved how the symbols created almost a new language of math. When I tutor students, my biggest advice is to understand and memorize the concept before applying formulas and operations into the problem. Practice is a big emphasis to succeed, especially higher degree math. I can teach basically any type of math lower than multivariable calculus, with exception to geometry, since I am not as strong as algebra or calculus. I really do not have a favorite math subject to tutor, since they all connect with each other and I have different styles to teach each of them.Outside of math, I am a big sports fan, and love applying statistics to specific teams and players. I also love playing poker.

As a tutor I am very patient, and my teaching style is to ensure the student has a full understanding of the content on their own, without any outside assistance. I hope to obtain this understanding by using repetition and providing practice problems, while making the learning environment as least stressful for the student as possible. I am currently a strategy analyst as MasterCard. I have tutored for the past 4-5 years to both college students as well as local Miami high school students. I love working with students because engaging in the process of educating individuals is highly motivational to me and due to that I can't help but motivate my students to learn as well. I believe my experiences have allowed me to become rather successful in tutoring and have taught me how to effectively adapt to various students and how to properly teach them difficult concepts. More so, I have learned how to motivate students who may feel discouraged and have also learned how to create an environment in which the students feels as if they can succeed. Outside of tutoring, I love to exercise, invest in the stock market and learn how to code (I am currently learning Python and R). It is important to realize that in learning, there isn't a single successful way. Rather, each student is unique and their path to success is too.

From a young age I learned to value my mother's perseverance and sacrifice. My mother supported my grandmother and I while working three jobs in Hialeah, Fl. I assumed the responsibility of caring for my grandmother while my mother worked, day in and day out. Although she had little time or money, she would manage, every week, to volunteer in the community with me by her side. As I sit on the threshold of a career in medicine, I am humbly reminded of so many of these early incidents, which define and shape who I am today. Armed with the support of my mother's strength and exposure to some of the best learn educational opportunities that Miami had to offer, I was able to reach far beyond the expectations of my immediate environment. As I grew through meaningful experiences that led me to a choice of career while at the University of Miami, I journeyed through a similar progression of experiences at Howard University College of Medicine that narrowed my specialty choice to Anesthesiology. One of those experiences was the medical mission trip I was privileged to be a part of to Haiti prior to my third year of medical school. A day did not pass during this mission when I did not feel compassion for this community. The Haitian people have so much resilience and strength despite their devastating living conditions. I was fortunate enough to work closely with the anesthesiologists in the operating room throughout the entire mission trip. I was also able to observe the rapidity with which a patient might deteriorate and how quickly the anesthesiologist had to act. It was both exciting and rewarding to see that our efforts of stabilizing numerous patients succeeded. The practice of keeping patients alive and free of pain during such a difficult time was fascinating to me. During the mission, I also witnessed the impact that the lack of services and resources had on the community's health. I initially went to Haiti to serve a population in great need, never knowing that my life would have been impacted by witnessing the hope they had admist their day-to-day struggles. With a particular interest in international health, I plan to continue to promote awareness of health disparities that face many people globally. After my trip to Haiti and during clinical rotations I realized that my most fulfilling moments were being in the operating room. Specifically, I was more fascinated by the medicine behind keeping the patient stabilized and free of pain. Anesthesiology is tightly intertwined amongst most specialties of medicine. Whether caring for an obstetric patient who is bringing life into the world or stabilizing a critical patient, the attentiveness and intricacies that form the dynamic relationship between physiology and pharmacology intrigue me. Also, I find the prospect of practicing medicine with a diverse population of patients alluring. When I consider my interests and personality, along with my particular attention to detail, I feel that I am well suited for a career in anesthesiology.I am excited about the opportunity of pursuing a career in anesthesiology. I aspire to join a program that will challenge me and strengthen my drive to not only learn anesthesiology, but to teach others as well. With the clinical training I receive, as well as the compassion and congeniality I exude, I will own the responsibility to relieve pain and support my patients during the most critical moments of their lives. As I continue on this journey I strive to become a knowledgeable physician, adept anesthesiologist, and an effective educator. I know that my passion and dedication to patients as well as to learning will serve me well in my future endeavors to ultimately becoming a well-rounded physician.
