I have graduated with honors in Biological Sciences from Florida International University, Miami. I gained professional teaching experience while I was working as a Learning Assistant at FIU, and helped biology professors in their lectures. I have been tutoring elementary and middle school students for 4 years in math and sciences, and dealt with special, designed curriculums for schools attended by gifted students. I love teaching all sciences, because I think of beauty when it comes to those subjects. Learning sciences from an expert will widen a students horizon.I dont force my students to memorize, they fully understand the concept from me, and in that way they will avoid to memorize a concept they will forget the next day.I love drawing and designing jewelry. I am very funny, and a fun person to be around. I will make our tutoring session very interesting and exciting!

My teaching strategy is active, in-depth learning, which promotes the problem solving and collaborative learning capabilities of my students. The tools I use to implement my strategies are homework assignments, paper assignments, quizzes, and the think-pair-share technique.
As a lifelong educator, my goal is to make the process fun, relevant, and exciting. Helping students find value in what they do is important as is the moment in which students have their "aha" or lightbulb moment, when a concept is mastered!
I graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. As I completed my degree, I spent about three years working as a tutor – a time during which I had the opportunity to help students of a wide range of ages: from elementary school kids, to high school seniors and college sophomores. After graduation, I worked as a journalist for about a year, and then went back to FIU, where I am currently preparing in order to apply for a PhD program in Social Psychology. I can tutor several subjects in the areas of writing, reading, and mathematics, up to early college-level. I can also help with preparation for standardized tests, such as SAT and GRE, which I particularly enjoy. I think academic success depends not only on practice, but, most importantly, on finding the correct approach to learning. Each person, I believe, has a different way of processing information and, as a tutor, it is one of my priorities to help students develop the critical thinking methods problem-solving skills that work best for them. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and writing, watching TV series, and anything related to the game of soccer.
History is my passion, and so is my career in education. I have a BA in History from Florida International University where I graduated Magna Cum Laude and received an award for academic achievement. During my time at FIU, I was employed as a preceptor by the History Department which provided me with the opportunity to teach students proper research and writing skills. I found that many students had been poorly equipped in high school to deal with the rigors of college-level work, and I made it a point to teach my students the skills they would need to be successful.History and writing go hand-in-hand, and I consider myself an excellent tutor for American and European history, effective essay writing skills, and proper research and study skills. My tutoring gives high school students the skills they will need to succeed in college and college students the skills they will need to graduate. I tutor using a technique-based approach, which can apply to a wide variety of subjects and is not limited to history or writing. As someone with a love for antiquity, I enjoy studying and teaching classical Japanese martial arts and have done so for fifteen years. Whenever possible, I attend living history events throughout the state of Florida. I also consider myself a bit of an automobile enthusiast and enjoy the feel of a well-made sports car.

I am a recent graduate of Florida International University (FIU) and have attained my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. I am currently working on my prerequisites so I can continue working for my Master's in Speech Language Pathology. I first discovered tutoring while attending college. I would assist the children of nearby neighbors and I discovered the joy of helping a student finally realize their own talent for learning. I was able to teach them the knowledge that they needed and they were able to teach me both experience and how to adapt my teaching methods to the needs of the student. I teach a broad variety of subjects, but my favorite subject to tutor is mathematics. Math has always been a passion of mine and I like to try and pass on that passion and appreciation of the subject. In doing so, the goal is to teach students that math is not impossible, but within their reach if given enough support. In terms of a teaching philosophy or tutoring style, there is no one way to learn, and therefore, students should be provided multiple ways and entry points to help them succeed and learn successfully. Outside of academics, I spend my time reading, biking, and exploring nature.

I am also an expert in Microsoft Outlook functions.I am enthusiastic about tutoring in the following subjects: nutrition, public health, exercise science, math, research fundamentals, and writing including thesis and dissertation writing and APA formatting and citations. My tutoring style is flexible. I enjoy meeting the student where they're at in terms of pacing and style of tutoring. For example, while some students appreciate hands on examples, others prefer demonstrations. While some prefer to come to a session with specific questions while others prefer to be given a specific calendar of tasks to work on day by day and so forth.I am excited to continue working with students and hope to get you excited about your educational journey soon!
