I have been an educator for 20+ years, serving in a variety of capacities (e.g., speech pathologist, teacher, and staffing specialist); however, the majority of my experience has been in working with persons with disabilities and managing such programs.I am fluent in English, French, and Haitian Creole, plus I have a fair knowledge of Spanish as well.In my spare time, I enjoy helping children and adults achieve their academic goals by giving them the tools they need to become successful via tutoring, editing of their writing, and teaching them to think and analyze their own work. Educators must strive to fully stimulate their students. Sometimes it requires triggering all senses and figuring which sense the child learns with best. Repetition of writing, saying, touching, and organizing letters & numbers in the form of chips, blocks, sand and various tactile mediums can make for the best results and sometimes none of this is needed. I, the teacher, have learned to be flexible in approach and to listen to my student the same way I expect him or her to listen to me. So when I teach, we both learn.
