The student and I worked on her review problems for her upcoming test. The topic was Applications of Integration, focusing on Work and Force problems. She did very well with her review and was able to complete her assignment. We then discussed other test topics (Solids of Revolution).

Today, the student completed her Module 7 exam in geometry and posted her response to its concurrent discussion assignment. She also completed two assessments in World Cultures- a unit task and a map interpretation exercise. She also completed short assignments for English and health class.

Introductory Session: Discussed Classes and Assignments, Identified Areas of Help, Devised Plan of Action, Articulated Goals.

During this session, we went over polar coordinates, changing from Cartesian to polar and vice verse, polar coordinates of imaginary numbers, and various graphs. Overall, this session went well.

We worked on the student's weekly homework packet, which covered a couple of different areas. The earlier sections addressed line plots, and the later sections moved into using a more complex Cartesian coordinate system to represent data. We also worked on her problem of the week, which was about recognizing patterns in number sequences. She did a great job converting data to ordered pairs and plotting them on a coordinate system, and she had no trouble recognizing the patterns in her POW. She also did a good job creating line plots. She whizzed right through her homework. .

The student went over her homework in physics and pre-calc. The physics material was all about drawing free body diagrams to label the forces in various situations. The pre-calculus was all about polynomials, finding their zeroes, and graphing them. I would say that she has a very good grasp on the material in both cases.
