I am a graduate of Brandeis University, where I earned my Bachelor's degree in History and Psychology. I am also a recent graduate of University College London, where I received my Master of Science in Child Development. I have been tutoring for several years, beginning in high school when I tutored as part of the community service component of the International Baccalaureate Program. I have since then continued tutoring in various subjects and at a range of levels. Some of my favorite subjects include English, Math (up through the Algebra II level), Social Sciences, and SAT/ACT preparation. I enjoy contributing to the success of my students and seeing them improve in their skills, scores, and attitude towards learning. I make a point of getting to know each student so I can meet his or her specific needs and teach in a compatible style. I am a veteran and professional engineer working in the space industry. My military background is in computer systems/networks and I completed my undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle. I am nearing the end of my M.S. in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Purdue, which I have been working towards part-time since 2020. I am Pre-Med but majored in Romance Languages and Literatures. I was born in Colombia and speak Spanish at home. I studied abroad in France junior year of high school and in Chile junior year of college, and my experience abroad really strengthened my passion for languages and other cultures.

I am a licensed physician from Florida who is currently changing careers. I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009 and have extensive tutoring and editing experience. While a student, I became a certified writing tutor through the Critical Writing Department. Since I completed my writing requirement at the University prior to matriculating, I was the first freshman tutor to be accepted into this selective program. The tutoring program involved a preliminary peer-tutor training course prior to beginning tutoring, in order to certify that I had the appropriate background to provide professional feedback to fellow students on their literary works and projects. After graduation, I worked for a full-service learning center where I created and implemented high school lesson plans for home-schooled students, provided academic support for students ranging in ages from 8 to 20 years old, and taught group and individual standardized testing preparation classes. I have also assisted students with application essays for various undergraduate and graduate programs.

I am a recent graduate from the University of Florida. I completed my studies in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience and have minors in statistics and business administration. I am currently going on to obtain a Master in Computational Social Science at the University of Chicago. I am passionate about research, data collection, and analysis in the area of cognitive psychology. My specialties lie in Psychology and Statistics and I have a very strong mathematical foundation. I have experience working with middle school and high school aged students as a tutor through the national honor society club, which I was a member of as a high school student. I have worked with children on the autism spectrum, children with down syndrome, and Deaf children in behavioral therapy and their class courses.

I'm passionate about guiding high schoolers through the college application process. The admissions process is probably one of the most confusing, anxiety-inducing experiences you'll have in high school, but I'm full of ideas for making the entire process as successful and stress-free as possible. I've successfully guided many students through every stage of admissions -- from figuring out where to apply and then staying organized and on-track, to "packaging" themselves and producing a perfect personal statement -- and I love witnessing them achieve their admissions dreams.
