My mission as a tutor and mentor is to make the journey into medicine structured, attainable, and empowering by providing individualized academic support from high school through the premedical years, with a specific focus on MCAT preparation and long term success. I specialize in MCAT focused tutoring and premedical academic mentorship, working with motivated students who aspire to enter medicine and other health professions. In addition to content mastery, I emphasize executive function coaching. Many capable students struggle not because they lack intelligence, but because they lack structure. I work with students to create realistic study schedules, break large goals into achievable steps, track progress, and build consistent routines. While I tutor a variety of subjects, I specialize in English, History, and Law, and I particularly enjoy helping students sharpen their writing and critical thinking skills. I am a student of the University of Central Florida currently dual majoring in Digital Media and Creative Writing while minoring in Computer Science. As a tutor for Varsity Tutors, I have the unique ability to be able to combine two of my greatest passions--writing, and helping others. This is a combination of interests that I've been working with for a while now whether in High School tutoring children from my old elementary school, mentoring middles schoolers and high schoolers as part of Write Away, and tutoring college students on essay writing with Tutor.com. When it comes to tutoring, I specialize in reading and writing, though find my preference to be mostly in writing as it is a subject I am both strong in as well as take a personal interest in as an aspiring writer. Outside of writing stories, however, interests of mine including consuming media of all types such as books, movies, television shows, or video games, enjoying all so long as they have good stories to back them up.

I am a veteran and professional engineer working in the space industry. My military background is in computer systems/networks and I completed my undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle. I am nearing the end of my M.S. in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Purdue, which I have been working towards part-time since 2020. I have tutoring experience from my undergraduate experience where I worked as a chemistry, physics, and mathematics tutor. Additionally, I have mentoring experience in my current role as an engineer. I have a strong interest in continual learning and enjoy helping others succeed in their studies & educational pursuits.

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all methodeach student learns differently, so I adapt my approach to match their individual pace, goals, and learning style. I have an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Michigan State University and a Master's degree in mathematics from the University of Miami. I worked for The Princeton Review as a tutor for the SAT. I did very well on both the SAT and ACT, and like teaching students how to do better on those. I like history, too, and always find it fun to tutor history.

I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from MIT with a Concentration in Philosophy at Harvard University. I also possess a decade of experience as a teacher of High School Mathematics at international schools in North America, Europe and Asia. I am fully bilingual in English and Spanish. Furthermore, I have reached an intermediate proficiency level of French, Italian and German. Regarding my tutoring, I feel comfortable teaching Mathematics in both English and Spanish. I enjoy one-on-one tutoring because it gives me the chance to taylor my lessons to the specific needs of a student. My preference is to build knowledge from first principles and to encourage reasoning and independent thinking. I worked for Sony Electronics for over a decade as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, leading hardware designs of newly introduced features of Sony's High-Definition televisions. I have also managed a privately-owned business. I have always been passionate about tutoring. For example, I tutored math, calculus and physics in college, and I volunteered in educating seniors in computer skills. I especially enjoy tutoring students who are interested in learning the subject themselves. Whether they are good at it is irrelevant as I will work very hard to ensure they have the right foundation to be confident and enthusiastic about the topic at hand. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling, biking and playing the piano. I also enjoy meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds.
