Tutoring review by Joseph in Glenn Heights, TX
The student and I started with some probability work for her discrete math class before delving back into calculus. We tackled some problems she was having with implicit differentiation, rate-of-change applications, and rotational volume. She understood most of my explanations quickly, and we fully addressed all of her problems. I also answered a few questions about college selection for her at the end of our session.

Tutoring review by Stephanie in Glenn Heights, TX
The student had a trigonometry homework assignment, this is a new topic for her so it was a little bit difficult for her at first. We went over SOH CAH TOA first and sin, cos, and tan. We also went over the difference between the sin and sin-1, cos and cos-1, tan and tan-1. After that she began her homework. It took her some time to get used to SOH CAH TOA and to figure out which of the ratios to use. Drawing arrows from the angle to the sides or the triangle helped her figure out which ratio to use. After a few problems she realized that finding the angle theta, or finding the missing side is the exact same process for each triangle. Once she realized that it was the same set of steps each time the problems became much easier for her to do.

We worked on stoichiometry and mass-mass, mole-mass, and mass-mole conversions. We worked on some problems, and I tried to emphasize the importance of stoichiometry in Chemistry, which the student plans on using in his future major, petroleum engineering.
