Professor K is certified in Spanish with 53 university hours from Abilene Christian University and Texas A&M Commerce holding a Master's in Education and Bachelor's in English and Spanish. He has taught all grade levels from K-12. He has been a Professor of Spanish and English on two college campuses. He has helped students with their learning of English as their second language. I have 27 years of law enforcement experience. I also have a human resources background as well. I have a Bachelor's and a Master's degree. I have a Bachelor's in criminal justice and a master's in organizational leadership with a focus on conflict resolution. I also have a PHD in Metaphysics I have a lot of life experience in a variety of topics, farming, herbal and gardening, animal care. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Abilene Christian University. I completed my Master of Arts degree from Texas Tech University. Additional studies from University of Texas at Austin, University of Illinois and University of Connecticut have enhanced my educational experience.I taught theatre, communication studies and English for 40 years. During that time I directed over 100 fully staged productions and worked with over 6,000 students in class and on stage.I have tutored and mentored many students with one on one speech and theatre assignments, auditions and productions. I continue to advise and tutor students live and online. I also adjudicate high school and college productions in numerous venues through oral and written communication encouraging their performances.My favorite subject and class/students are the ones I am currently invested in at the time. I adore working in the present with students at the beginning level up to an advanced level of performance skills. Students continue to inspire me to a higher level of learning.I enjoy directing theatre productions and working with actors. I enjoy working with public speakers in all subject areas. I am a graduate cum laude of Abilene Christian University with a bachelor of arts in History and a minor in English. I have worked as an assistant editor and have plans to continue onto graduate school with a specialization in the American Gilded Age.As a tutor, I prefer to emphasize critical thinking and technique over memorization. A student who memorizes the answers can pass a test, but a student who knows how to effectively research and problem-solve can excel in anything they do. I offer tutoring in all levels and areas of music theory, AP Music Theory course and testing materials, music appreciation, state-certification exam materials, and any choral or instrumental class materials. I have 20 years of teaching experience in multiple subject areas of music, including test preparation for music entrance/exit exams. I consider exam preparation to by my greatest strength in teaching. With so many years of experience in classrooms from early elementary through college, I have a wide range of knowledge and familiarity with exam standards.I graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor's in Music Education, and I am currently a certified classroom teacher in the state of Texas. My certification is PreK-12 in Vocal and Instrumental Music. I have taught choral music in the public schools of Texas and Oklahoma to grades PreK-12 and have also served as assistant band director at the middle school and high school levels.During my time in the choral music classroom, I taught AP Music Theory at Conroe High School. I received my Master's in Music Theory from the University of Oklahoma. I taught on the music theory faculty at Sam Houston State University for five years, where I taught all levels of Music Theory and Sight Singing/Ear Training to music majors, and Music Appreciation to non-majors, both in-person and online. I am a professional accompanist in the local area, and I currently teach private voice and piano lessons.Teaching is my passion, no matter what type of classroom setting I'm in. I feel that I am able to reach students just as personally online as in person, and I firmly believe that every student can have a solid understanding of the course or exam materials. I take as many approaches as I can to reach each one of my students as an individual learner, and I always find a way to share a bond with them that will aid in their success.
