I am a Dallas native who recently graduated with academic distinction from The University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. As an undergraduate I excelled in science courses such as Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology and Physics among others.During my time in college I tutored different subjects such as Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Biology. While tutoring I realized that all students learn differently and it is the job of the tutor to find out which approach works best for the student and then utilize these strategies during the learning process. While tutoring I look to engage my students in the learning process by presenting subjects as relevant and interesting which goes a long way in decreasing the perceived difficulty of a course.In my free time I love spending time outdoors as well as playing basketball with friends.

Greetings! I am an attorney / Sociology instructor who has a passion and love for both subjects. I attained my M.S. in Applied Sociology in 2006 and began teaching at Collin College the same year. I just finished my 15th year with the school as a part-time adjunct professor and I look forward to year 16! I went to law school later than the traditional student, but I was in a job that brought me no joy or sense of accomplishment, and I wanted something more fulfilling than a paycheck, so I went to law school at age 37. I was fortunate to score well on the LSAT and get a partial scholarship to SMU Dedman School of Law. I received my J.D. two months after my 40th birthday and have been practicing for 8 years. It has been the best 8 years of my life! I currently have my own practice that focuses on CPS, mental health, and juvenile cases, but also am of counsel with a mid-size law firm as their Estate Planning and Probate attorney. I really enjoy staying busy and working with new attorneys and mentoring law school students. I think tutoring is a perfect extension of all the things I love about my job and life and I hope I can help students who are struggling with the materials so they can be successful in their academic and professional lives. I have tutored many high school and middle school students in math related subjects back when I was a member of National Honors Society. In addition, back when I was in elementary school, I have participated in numerous number sense and problem solving competitions. I am a very patient teacher and look forward to make mathematical problem solving understandable to the best of my ability.I also play the violin for a hobby, and had at least a decade of experience playing. I was accepted in the TMEA All Region Philharmonic Orchestra back in 2007 through blind life auditioning and qualified to audition for All State as well. I have the proclivity to learn extremely difficult violin pieces and techniques.I was a long distance runner as well. I have run many 5Ks throughout senior high, and completed my first marathon in April 2009. Afterward, I participated in gymnastics, circus arts, yoga, and contortion as personal enrichment.

Throughout high school and college, I have seen some peers struggle in concepts of Math due to a lack of foundational knowledge.
