I was influenced by my family to pursue a career in medicine. My mother was an MD/PhD Pathologist in China. When we moved to the US, she first worked as a research scientist at University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston, and later she had her pathology residency at UTMB. She is now a surgical pathology fellow at Houston Methodist Hospital. My mother would teach me medical knowledge whenever she got a chance. I aspire to be a physician that is hardworking, passionate, and careful for the patients. I am determined and willing to put in the work to accomplish this goal.In 2011, to pursue the dream of becoming a physician, I entered Baylor University with a Baylor Gold Scholarship and a Jones Scholarship from Houston Jones Scholars. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology on the pre-med track in the Honors Program. First of all, I study diligently for each subject in the pre-med program. I am also taking music classes for a Music Minor, because I enjoy playing piano and guitar. Music has trained my patience and carefulness, and it has helped me quickly spot minor errors. Overall, I have maintained an Honors status throughout my college career.Since my junior year, I have worked as an official undergraduate tutor at Baylor University, a spot I earned with high grades in classes such as Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. I was selected from hundreds of applicants through a highly competitive interview by the tutoring center. Tutoring can be challenging. In the most difficult sessions, I revisited and retaught material. This requires me to go over the material and also make sure the students understand confusing concepts. I have to be very patient and creative in my teaching. While this might frustrate some tutors, I fully enjoy my job as a tutor. Not only does it give me a sense of accomplishment when I have educated someone on a subject he or she previously did not understand, but it is also a good practice of patience and teaching styles I will need as a future physician.I shadowed Dr. Sunil Jain, a pediatrician at UTMB, during summer in 2012. In the same summer, I also volunteered at St. Vincent's Free Clinic in Galveston both weekdays and weekends. Supervised by UTMB faculties and 4th year medical school students, I was in charge of the paperwork for reduced-cost medicine in low-income families. I also assisted in various medical procedures. I volunteered at Hillcrest Cancer Center. There, I got to know the cancer patients on a personal level and found out what kind of hardships they were going through. I regularly volunteer at the Waco Family Abuse Center. Working in medicine, I will master the skills of diagnosis, work continually to improve my quality of understanding of medicine, and educate my future patients so they can make choices for healthy lives. My curiosity for the medical field has drawn me to the medical research happening around Baylor University. I use my spare time in between classes and the weekend working in Dr. Myeongwoo Lee's lab as an undergraduate researcher. My research project is generating double gene mutations of the pat-3(sp) mutation and the pat-3(+) mutation crossed with the SK4005 mutation on c. elegans nematodes. Many genes in c. elegans are homologous to human genes. To investigate the role of the above gene mutations in the development of c. elegans is to further understand the mechanism of human neurodegenerative diseases. To open my eyes to different cultures in the world, I applied and was selected to be part of a pre-med study abroad semester in Maastricht, Netherlands. In Maastricht, I studied both for the classes taught by Baylor professors and the Maastricht University professors. I was introduced to the European culture in my free time. I visited many placesBerlin, Munich, Paris, Barcelona, Interlaken, Florence, and London. I marveled at the unique building structures, food, and customs each place had. I was impressed by the different histories of each country I toured.I believe medicine is a challenging career. I am ready to face the hard work of being a medical school student to study the mechanisms of various diseases, continual learning, and educating patients. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with students as I coach them to practice strong study habits and academic success.

I am a patient tutor who believes that knowledge is power. Making sure that my students learn in the best way that they can is very important to me, so I make it my personal mission to ensure that the student truly learns the material and is able to problem solve on their own. There is always more than one way to explain a problem, so if the student does not understand in one way, I make sure to implement other methods to teach them so that they can understand to the best of their ability. There is no stupid question except the one that is not asked.I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Minor in English from Baylor University. I am currently a Doctoral student studying Clinical Psychology at Widener University. I have worked previously mostly with children between ages of 6 and 13 but I am comfortable working with students of all ages. Outside of tutoring, I like to write (mostly poetry), read, play all sports and do crafts. I love animals and have two dogs of my own.I am the kind of tutor who believes in the success of all students. No child left behind is truly my philosophy. I am a Baylor University graduate, where I studied pre-med and earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. My passion for education and helping students stems from my 8 years of experience as a technical education teacher in a highly rated independent school district in Texas. I am pursuing an additional degree in the Healthcare field at this time and my own experience as a student is only helping to further solidify my passion for learning and helping students reach their academic goals. I just completed a very successful semester of course work in the following areas: Anatomy and Physiology, College Algebra, Elementary Physics and Sociology. Over the years, I have gained valuable experience working with students of various ages and backgrounds. My career in education began at the middle school level in the computer science lab. I continued on to teach various high school courses in Family and Consumer Sciences. My students academic success rates never fell below 95%. These experiences have allowed me to develop a deep understanding of how to adapt my teaching style to meet the unique needs of each student. I specialize in tutoring Algebra (all levels), Biology, Sociology and Theatre History, but my favorite subject to teach is Anatomy. I find this subject particularly rewarding because it allows me to help students uncover the beauty of the system that is our human body and it encourages critical thinking. My teaching philosophy centers on building a strong foundation of understanding while fostering curiosity and confidence. I believe in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring new ideas. My tutoring style is interactive and tailored to each student's learning preferences and focused on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps. Outside of academia, I enjoy karaoke, baking and horror films! These activities help me maintain balance in my life and often inspire creative ways to connect with my students.
I am a passionate tutor focusing on middle school and high school matha and science, with a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Baylor University and am currently a fourth year medical student at University of Texas Health Science Center Houston. Learning is one of the best things a person can do. But, there is nothing worse than sitting in class feeling like you are the only one that does not understand- trust me, I have been there. With that being said, I would love to be a part of the educational process that leads to the cultivation of new found understanding that restores the confidence you need to succeed. I believe I have the right tools to help you get there.
I am a pre-medical student at Baylor University and I am committed to education and love the changes that it can bring in people's lives. I am very excited to be able to walk alongside others and help fine tune the process of learning.
I recently graduated from Baylor University, where I studied Spanish, biology, and biochemistry, and I am currently studying for the MCAT with hopes of attending medical school. In my time at Baylor, I served as the supplemental physics instructor for fellow undergraduate students, along with serving as an ESL teaching assistant and tutor for the Baylor Spanish department.I love to tutor both Spanish and physics: subjects that can seem daunting to students, but that unveil a certain beauty about the world around us. Spanish is valuable to me because it opens up the possibility for communication with new people, and the nuances found within the language are beautiful and complex. I enjoy showing students that, rather than being intimidating, physics can spark our curiosity and give us a more well-rounded understanding of significant scientific discoveries. My high school physics teacher changed my life for the better, so any opportunity to follow in his footsteps of encouraging students to feel capable and supported is an honor. I would consider my tutoring style to be fairly relaxed and focused on the fundamentals. When students find clear understanding on basic conceptual ideas, manipulating those ideas to solve a problem becomes a manageable task.Outside of my academic interests, I enjoy attending concerts and spending time outdoors. I also love to travel and have visited 45 of the 50 states!
I'm a recent graduate of Baylor University. I have always loved school and can't wait to be a tutor!

I am currently a junior biology student at Baylor University with a minor in business administration. I have years of experience with students ranging from elementary to high school primarily as a camp counselor; however, I have tutored some of these same students in math and reading. I have previous experience tutoring GED students and tutoring students in subjects such as geometry, pre-algebra, and algebra. I have a great love for math and want to provide students with a strong foundation, so they too can be passionate for the subject.
I love science and believe that understanding this subject is key to success in school and life. When working with students struggling in this area, I like to help them connect with the concepts through real life application and then break down the main points to increase understanding rather than memorization. My goal is to help learners build their science foundation one lesson at a time so they will get to a point where science just makes sense!
As an enthusiastic educator with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Baylor University, I have dedicated over 5 years to igniting a passion for learning in my students. The joy of witnessing students reach their potential motivates me every day, and I strive to foster a supportive environment where they feel empowered to express their ideas, whether through writing or exploring the wonders of science.
I am a graduate of Baylor University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. After graduating, I worked in an environmental lab as an organic extractions technician and decided to pursue my masters degree. I obtained my Master of Science in Chemistry from Stephen F Austin State University while working as a graduate assistant teaching freshmen chemistry classes. This experience led me to the high school classroom to teach Chemistry, Pre-AP Chemistry as well as AP Chemistry. While I love to tutor math as well as science, I am most qualified and most passionate about tutoring chemistry (as if has a little of both math and science). I am a firm believer that every deserves and needs education. I also believe that you continue to learn and educate yourself throughout your life. The learning process never ends and hopefully I can convey this to my students so that they can appreciate the process. In my spare time, I enjoy reading a variety of genres, walking, gaming and of course sleeping. Also, I love to watch tennis during the grand slams.
"In her classroom our speculations ranged the world. She breathed curiosity into us so that each day we came with new questions, new ideas, cupped and shielded in our hands like captured fireflies. When she left us, we were sad; but the light did not go out. She had written her indelible signature on our minds. I have had lots of teachers who taught me soon forgotten things; but only a few who created in me a new energy, a new direction. I suppose I am the unwritten manuscript of such a person. What deathless power lies in the hands of such a teacher." John SteinbeckI chose teaching as a profession for all of those reasons. I want to share my love of the social sciences with the students and perhaps inspire them to pursue careers in that wide discipline. I want to leave my job each day with the knowledge that I have done something good. But more than anything else, I want to motivate my students to always chase after knowledge.

I have intentions of attending medical school after my undergraduate program. Throughout high school, I tutored children in all grades (K-12) and fell in love with helping others learn. My motto with tutoring has always been "By a student, For a student". I want to relate to my students on a personal level and build connections while advancing their knowledge. Outside of academics, I am a current student-athlete at my university running on the Track and Field team.
My name is Setareh, but my students can call me Seti. I attended Baylor University for undergrad and Baylor College of Medicine for my graduate program. I am now a 2nd year medical student at Nova Southeastern University with a strong background in the sciences and several years of experience helping younger students understand challenging material. As both a student and a tutor, I know how overwhelming school and exams can feel, so I focus on breaking concepts down into clear, manageable steps and creating a supportive, judgmentfree space where students can ask questions and build confidence. I am especially interested in tutoring any and all sciences and math in most K-12 subjects, college, and even medical school such as physiology, microbiology, biochemistry, cardiology, respiratory, G.I, endocrine, and renal systems. I enjoy helping students move from "I don't get this" to "I can do this" through practice, encouragement, and personalized strategies. My goal in every session is not only to improve grades and test scores, but also to help students feel more capable, independent, and excited about learning.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Baylor University and I am a first year medical student and the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. I have experience tutoring math and science at all levels from 3rd grade through college. Teaching middle school and high school math and science is a passion of mine and helping you reach your educational goals will be my joy and privilege. Algebra 1 is my favorite subject to tutor, followed closely by Algebra 2 and high school level Chemistry. My clients can expect a lot of practice problems and drills when working with me because it's my philosophy that there's only a certain amount that you can learn through rote memorization. Discovering what you don't know, mastering it, and being able to apply what you know is what gives rise to more complete understanding and ultimately what scores points on tests. In my free time I enjoy watching and playing baseball, mountain biking, camping, lifting weights, and teaching my dog Calvin tricks.
Hello there, I am here to serve and provide help any way I can. I enjoy working with people and finding common solutions that are relatable and fun. My biggest attribute may be that I want to listen first and am open-minded to creative solutions. Furthermore, Chess is a big hobby of mine used as a de-stresser. I've been playing since 3 years old and primarily enjoy teaching this to family and friends. It's not surprising that my primary teachings in this platform are Microsoft Excel (which I use daily), and Chess (my other superpower).
