I started tutoring as a middle schooler by helping my siblings and their friends in Math and English and I have enjoyed it ever since. As my love for tutoring has grown I have branched out to other subjects like History, Science, and Philosophy. I have tutored throughout my high school, undergraduate, and graduate career in a variety of subjects with students who are just as unique. I have experience with children as young as 5 and adults as old as 50. Whether it be working through physics equations or writing persuasive essays, I really love to help other people learn. Hi! I am Chris, and have been making art my whole life. I got into it when I was a kid through comics and anime, never looking back! Since then, I graduated with a degree in painting, freelanced in the design field, and even taught for several years. I am experienced in both the instruction and application of all things visual art. I taught 6-12 kids how to draw and paint, and courses in graphic design, photography, art history, sculpture, and sequential art.

I really enjoy seeing students learn Spanish and improve their ability to communicate. I have taught Spanish at Westfield High School and Fox Valley Technical College. Late in the winter of 2003, I left Baylor University for Spain, where I would spend the next semester studying. When I arrived in Madrid, I was unfamiliar with the city and had to rush to catch the bus that would take me to my university, several hours to the north. Confused, tired and not at all proficient in Spanish, I chose the incorrect station. A kind cab driver, noticing my confusion, insisted he accompany me to find my bus. When it was obvious that I had chosen the wrong station, he took me to the correct station and again accompanied me inside to ensure I found my bus. Over the next four months, I repeatedly encountered such kindness and support from the university and community. These advantages helped improve my fluency rapidly and fostered an interest in linguistics and language, enriching my stay with cultural experiences I would not have otherwise had.I moved on from undergraduate study to a Master of Arts in Publishing and Writing at Emerson College, shifting my focus to design and visual interpretation. As I progressed along my professional track in educational publishing, my mind often returned to my time abroad; I chafed at my inability to regularly use the skills and interests that I acquired in undergraduate study. I also felt disconnected from my community and my frequently returned to my education experiences—particularly those in Spain—which were essential in my personal growth. Many genes in c. elegans are homologous to human genes. To investigate the role of the above gene mutations in the development of c. elegans is to further understand the mechanism of human neurodegenerative diseases.To open my eyes to different cultures in the world, I applied and was selected to be part of a pre-med study abroad semester in Maastricht, Netherlands. In Maastricht, I studied both for the classes taught by Baylor professors and the Maastricht University professors. I was introduced to the European culture in my free time. My educational journey has taken me from earning my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Webster University to pursuing my Ph.D. at Baylor University, where I am currently focusing on advancing cybersecurity knowledge. As a tutor, I have a unique approach to education drawn from my diverse experiences as a software developer intern, security analyst, and technical analyst. My approach to teaching is to ensure that the theoretical knowledge I impart is tightly connected to real-world applications. Hello everyone! My name is Emily and I'm tutor for the north Houston, Woodlands and Conroe area. I have a Master's degree from the University of Notre Dame where I also completed enough training sessions and coursework to get a certificate in education methods. I have quite a bit of experience tutoring Spanish, French, and Latin, but am happy to help in areas of history, English reading/writing, and some math as well. I have also been a math tutor in the north Houston area for high school students who need help understanding concepts.

Hi! My name is Carson. I graduated Cum Laude from Baylor University in 2018 with a degree in Russian (minors in math and physics) and I hold an Associates of Science from Big Bend Community College. I have been tutoring since 2013 at college, high school and middle school levels. I tutor all levels of math up to calculus II, as well as Russian, introductory chemistry, physics, special relativity and beginning quantum mechanics, but Russian and calculus are my favorites! I studied abroad in Russia where I got to visit the Red Square and Lenin's tomb! (I'll tell you all about it, but only if you ask in Russian...) I love helping people learn, and a huge part of my philosophy as a tutor is that ANYONE can learn to do math, solve physics problems, speak Russian, etc. With encouragement, motivation, time and attention, I have seen students will all starting levels of ability flourish and succeed in their studies.
