I am in my 29th year of teaching. I currently teach 8th grade English. Before teaching, I was an undergraduate student at Baylor University in Waco, TX. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Music Education in 1994 (I was a violin major). Several years down the road in 2007, I decided to go through the Master's program offered by PISD at the time, and I graduated with a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.My philosophy of teaching is to value the commitment of being an educator in all its glory. While my students may not remember their parts of speech, they will; however, remember how I made them feel in my classroom. Thus, one of my primary objectives at the beginning of each school year is to build relationships with both my parents and my students, because students don't learn from teachers they don't like!

I love science and believe that understanding this subject is key to success in school and life. When working with students struggling in this area, I like to help them connect with the concepts through real life application and then break down the main points to increase understanding rather than memorization. My goal is to help learners build their science foundation one lesson at a time so they will get to a point where science just makes sense!

Hi! I am Chris, and have been making art my whole life. I got into it when I was a kid through comics and anime, never looking back! Since then, I graduated with a degree in painting, freelanced in the design field, and even taught for several years. I am experienced in both the instruction and application of all things visual art. I taught 6-12 kids how to draw and paint, and courses in graphic design, photography, art history, sculpture, and sequential art.

I am a graduate of Baylor University (sic 'em!) where I studied a smattering of things: Linguistics, French, and Great Texts. I wish I could have studied more; I love to learn! Since then, I've spent the last five years trying to impart my love of learning to students by tutoring SAT/ACT and Precalculus (3 years) and full-time teaching History and Literature (2 years). My favorite part about the job is getting to help students realize their goals and discover their strengths, even when they're struggling! My favorite subjects to tutor are test prep and essay editing (college essays included), but I also tutor French I and II and math up to Precalculus. When I'm not working, I love to cultivate my growing collection of plants, drink coffee with my friends, try new recipes, and read! I am a patient tutor who believes that knowledge is power. Making sure that my students learn in the best way that they can is very important to me, so I make it my personal mission to ensure that the student truly learns the material and is able to problem solve on their own. There is always more than one way to explain a problem, so if the student does not understand in one way, I make sure to implement other methods to teach them so that they can understand to the best of their ability. There is no stupid question except the one that is not asked.I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Minor in English from Baylor University. I am currently a Doctoral student studying Clinical Psychology at Widener University. I have worked previously mostly with children between ages of 6 and 13 but I am comfortable working with students of all ages. I tutor in almost all subjects, but my favorites are Math, English, Psychology and Study and Organizational skills. Outside of tutoring, I like to write (mostly poetry), read, play all sports and do crafts. I love animals and have two dogs of my own.I am the kind of tutor who believes in the success of all students. No child left behind is truly my philosophy. I implement fun tactics during tutoring sessions to help keep my students engaged but make sure to retain a respectable demeanor at the same time.

My name is Christi. I have a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Baylor University. Sic'em Bears! I have also spent time working on my Masters of Chemical Engineering at Rice University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Baylor University and I am a first year medical student and the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. I have experience tutoring math and science at all levels from 3rd grade through college. I started tutoring professionally in 2002 while I was in college. In 2004, I tutored English, French, Latin, and constitutional government for Baylor University's Student-Athlete Services and stayed there the first two years of law school. I love working with foreign languages. I speak English natively, French fluently, and Spanish and Arabic proficiently. I also can read and write Arabic.

I am a graduate of Baylor University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. After graduating, I worked in an environmental lab as an organic extractions technician and decided to pursue my masters degree. I obtained my Master of Science in Chemistry from Stephen F Austin State University while working as a graduate assistant teaching freshmen chemistry classes. This experience led me to the high school classroom to teach Chemistry, Pre-AP Chemistry as well as AP Chemistry. While I love to tutor math as well as science, I am most qualified and most passionate about tutoring chemistry (as if has a little of both math and science). I am a firm believer that every deserves and needs education. I also believe that you continue to learn and educate yourself throughout your life. The learning process never ends and hopefully I can convey this to my students so that they can appreciate the process. In my spare time, I enjoy reading a variety of genres, walking, gaming and of course sleeping. Also, I love to watch tennis during the grand slams.
