I am currently a graduate student at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. I am getting a Ph.D in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Previously, I received a bachelors degree from the University of Florida with a major in Biology and a minor in Entomology. Also in 2009, I completed the International Baccalaureate program so I am familiar and experience with the requirements (I went to an IB middle and high school). Throughout my career I have had much success with mentoring students. In the past 2 years I have personally mentored 4 students in how to be a effective research scientists (I taught things like proper lab techniques, basic biology/biochemistry, presentation skills, and how to apply science to the real world). All of my students have received awards for their outstanding performance. I love tutoring anything science related, especially biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and more, but I am also strong in math. My tutoring philosophy is that no two students are alike so I like to mold my teaching style to match the student as best as I can.

I'm currently a nursing student at UTMB in Galveston, Texas. I have experience tutoring students as young as 10 all the way up to college level, and consider teaching to be my passion. My favorite subject to teach is ACT prep for Reading and English, Biology, and Algebra. What gravitates me to tutoring is seeing someone get excited about a topic when they understand it.
As I would like to provide high quality patient care through my students, I am passionate about helping students to prepare for the NCLEX-RN exam to pass first time itself. I chose maternity nursing as my specialty in my master's program and I did my PhD in nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch and graduated in 2014. I have taught nursing students from LPN, RN, BSN, MSN, to PhD levels using different teaching methods. I can tutor maternity nursing and medical surgical nursing.

I am currently a first year medical student at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. In 2020, I graduated with Magna Cum Laude and Honors with a Bachelor in Science in Biology from Texas Christian University. Along with my Biology major, I minored in Chemistry, Spanish for the Health Professions, and Cultural Awareness in Health and Healthcare. I am passionate about learning, which is one of the reasons I enjoy tutoring and helping other students learn. My tutoring style is tailored to each student, but I find that the best way to teach is to explain the concept, answer questions, and then have the student explain the concept back to me in order to ensure they retain the knowledge. I also enjoy providing study tips for how to learn scientific concepts more effectively, and more specifically, how to successfully study for high level science courses or the MCAT.
I graduated from UNT in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in chemistry. At UNT I tutored Organic Chemistry and Biology. My method of tutoring varies depending on the learning style that facilitates the individual student's ability to understand the information.
I am graduate of Community College currently pursuing my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. After graduating with my associates, I went active duty for about a year and a half in the Air National Guard learning skills in managing an airfield, of which I graduated with honors in. I have worked with all kinds of students and all subjects when tutoring. From elementary aged children to high school students with special needs in "Best Buddies." I am most passionate about Science but enjoy Literature as well as Mathematics. I believe that through learning an education, the door to the future is opened and creates a foundation for success. Learning can be tough sometimes, but I love to get others excited about subject material they may be struggling in.
I am so grateful to have had so many amazing mentors throughout my academic and personal journey! Throughout my undergraduate years, my mentors, friends, and trusted voices were all vital for me to be able to achieve all the goals I had always dreamed of. Because of them, I am proud to say that I am a current medical student at UTMB medical school right in my hometown! My dreams now are founded on helping those in my same position just a few years ago. I want to become your guide, mentor, and supporter. I know what it takes to pursue the seemingly ambitious and farfetched dreams. Success is never achieved alone. Lets do it together!
I attended the University of Texas at Austin for my undergraduate studies, where I found my passion for the natural sciences. As I found ways to make the material more comprehensible, I was able to help my classmates and eventually decided to tutor. After spending over two and a half years tutoring in college, I went to medical school at UTMB and started tutoring first-year medical students during my second year. My passion for tutoring comes from seeing the confidence that I can help bring out in the learners I work with as I see them take a previously confusing or challenging topic and make sense of it. I particularly enjoy the natural sciences because of the elegantly consilient way that different subjects intertwine. If you find yourself not quite understanding the material as much as you would like for topics such as biology, chemistry, or physics, I may be able to help you. Furthermore, I also have experience tutoring for the MCAT and would be happy to spend some time discussing what I've learned applying to medical school and residency afterwards. I moved to Chicago for residency training with a dual specialization in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, currently in my third year. And although it's different in some ways from Austin, I love exploring Chicago and finding fun new and fun things to do!
My passion to help students learn is simple I did not receive help in the form of tutors growing up. I believe it makes a difference in the form of less stress. By the time I graduated high school I felt burned out. I don't want students to feel that way. I loved teaching students it has all been a pleasant experience. I am currently in UTRGV in the Rio Grande valley in Texas. I am almost a graduate . I can't wait to further my studies by going to medical school. I will graduate with a bachelor's in chemistry with a minor in anthropology. I tutor Spanish, elementary school/middle school subjects, chemistry and math. My favorite subject to tutor is Spanish I would say because it is my first language. My philosophy is to be patient and understanding to each student because everyone has a different learning style. To be someone who believes the student can succeed and not bring the student down or downplay their achievements. If they get a bad grade to not be mad or be upset instead help and try to understand what went wrong. My interest outside academia is actually learning Korean and one day move to South Korea. My cat is also a bit interest he is like my son. To me family is everything.
