With a professional background editing both creative and informative writing, I work every day with the same skills students need to succeed on their writing assignments: organized ideas, clear communication, and attention to detail. Writing can feel overwhelming for many students, especially when staring at a blank page. My approach breaks down assignments into manageable tasks like understanding the prompt, building a strong thesis, organizing paragraphs, and polishing grammar and clarity. I focus on making writing feel less intimidating and more like a skill they've already mastered!

I have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Houston. Coupled with a Master of Mathematics from West Texas A&M University and a Masters in Education from Grand Canyon University, I am well qualified to teach and tutor math at every level. I love math. I love everything about it. I love inspiring students to see how awesome math can be. I have taught in the public school system in Texas for the last 14 years at every high school level. I have taught Algebra, Geometry, Math Models, Algebra II, Pre-cal, Dual Credit Pre-cal, AP Statistics, AP AB Calculus (currently), and AP BC Calculus (currently). I have achieved the impossible by getting a 100% pass rate on the EOC twice in regular classes. (once in Algebra and once the one year we had an EOC in Geometry). I have taken students who did not like math, turned them around, helped them into college, and have had several of them come back to tell me they are now majoring in mathematics. I have taken students who couldn't pass the EOC or have never passed a STARR test, and have tutored them into receiving passing scores. On the the other end of the spectrum, I work with students everyday in the top 10%. They come back to tell me that my teaching rivals and even surpasses that of professors at top universities across the nation. I love what I do, and have I mentioned that I love math?

As a recent graduate with a Bachelor's in Health Science from West Texas A&M University, I am passionate about empowering students to achieve their academic goals, particularly in Conversational Spanish, Spanish, Reading, Science, and History. With experience as a daycare teacher and a summer school student teacher, I have developed a patient and adaptive teaching style that meets diverse learning needs. I am a graduate of MidAmerica Nazarene University where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I also hold a Master's Degree in Education, with a focus on Educational Diagnostician, from West Texas A/ M University. I have been a Special Education Teacher and hold certification in the state of Texas for grades PK-12. I am presently working in the field as an Educational Diagnostician and have been in education for 27 years. As an Educational Diagnostician, I conduct evaluations for intellectual Disabilities, Specific Learning Disabilities, including Dyslexia evaluations and assist in educational programming for multiple disabilities. I am certified in the Dyslexia Learning Academy with the state of Texas. I have experience as a Math and English Inclusion Teacher and also specialize in tutoring math and reading. I am most passionate about helping students with special needs. I look forward to providing specialized instruction designed to meet the unique learning needs of struggling students.

My degree is in general elementary education and I have taught across the curriculum from music to English Language Arts and Social Studies and even beginning Spanish. One great consistency I have seen is that children are definitely individuals and finding a way to teach each of them is a joy. My passion is reading since it is at the core of all curriculum. I had the privilege of training hundreds of teachers in multiple techniques of reading instruction and I use those techniques that I shared with my students. Learning occurs everywhere and in many settings. I have taught in publics school classrooms, in homeschool classrooms, and I have tutored individuals. For me, it's all about taking a child where he or she is and moving them forward towards being a life-long learner.
