I have completed a BS in Retail Management and a BA in Languages and Cultures. Additionally, I have completed an MA in Archaeology of the Classical Mediterranean at the University of Sheffield in the UK. My passion is in Roman Archaeology and have dug at Roman sites in England and Italy. During my BA I also found a passion in Latin. It gave me a challenge I was looking for and I love to beat it. My mission as a tutor is to help students to fully comprehend, memorize, and be as successful in Latin as they possibly can. I have an excellent and well rounded mix of professional experience and educational foundation which allows me to bring context and examples to topics in order to help students fully understand the concepts being learned.I initially received an undergraduate degree in Information Systems from Texas Tech University and went to work for ExxonMobil as an applications developer and project manager. During my time with ExxonMobil, I had the opportunity to work in multiple business segments and began leading international projects which led me to working on projects in Africa (Chad and Cameroon). I then received a graduate degree from The University of Texas McCombs School of Business, and transitioned to a career in finance and manufacturing with Textron Inc. I served in multiple leadership roles within Textron's various business units which included banking and lending, leading a global manufacturing finance division, and serving as a Corporate Controller and Logistics Director. For the past five years, I have started a few different businesses with the primary entity being Black Hat Consulting Inc which provides strategic consulting services for marketing, finance, real estate clients.I have been a Chartered Financial Analyst since 2010.

I am a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio and Texas Tech University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (Early Childhood Education) and a Masters of Special Education with a focus on Autism (Autism Certificate). Since graduation, I have worked in a variety of settings with children from birth to 18 years with the majority of my experience as a teacher in public school general education/special education, Kindergarten-5th grade. While I have tutored a broad range of subjects and grade levels, I am most passionate about working with students who have special needs and who may not learn in the traditional manner. I love finding new and creative ways to reach every child, just where they are! Something I always try to do with the students I work with is to ignite a spark that makes them enthusiastic about learning.
