Hi, I am Sungae, ph.d in Engineering (from Texas Tech University). I have ~8 years teaching experience in math and science: teaching assistant, private tutor, teaching small group of class in private institution. I love math and science, and my goal is to have my students enjoy studying with me.
I am a student at the Texas Tech University working toward a degree in chemical engineering. After graduating from college, I plan to pursue a masters in the field of petroleum engineering. I have experience with tutoring since I was in high school; I founded a tutoring program at the Lee and Beulah Moor Home and I spent some time volunteering at this location. While I plan to tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about calculus and I particularly enjoy teaching others the basics of mathematics. I also have a lot of personal experience studying for standardized tests and I believe I have knowledge of strategies that would be helpful for any high school student preparing for the SAT/ACT. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, playing tennis, and hiking.
Let me start by thanking you for dropping by my page and taking the time to get to know a little about me. To begin with, I have excelled in academics from a young age. My competitive nature had me checking in at the scores table in everything I could handle. Whether it was UIL acting, science, maps/graphs/charts, spelling, science, or creative writing, I loved to learn and compete. While in middle-school, I was honored by Duke University for scoring in the top percentile of Duke's TIP program which allows middle school students to take either the SAT or ACT after receiving instruction and prep. These interests continued on into high-school where I eventually graduated as 21 out of 550+ students. However, academics were not my only strong point. I was awarded track athlete of the year as well as both "Mix 96 Player of the Year" and "Linebacker of the year" for football. I was the President of the first ever student formed Fellowship of Christian Athletes on my campus, a member of student council, the national honor society, and took part in several sports and youth groups. On the weekends, I enjoyed competing all over Texas with a traveling basketball team I was a part of. Fortunately, this early commitment to excellence helped me secure a spot with the Texas Tech Football team. In addition, I received a merit scholarship from Texas Tech based on my SAT scores and had my whole first year of college paid for by local scholarships I was awarded. After four years, I received my BA from Texas Tech and continued straight into my legal education. In may of 2014, I was awarded my JD from Texas Tech School of Law. I currently clerk for a law firm and tutor students. My teaching philosophy is that superior performance is something that can be achieved by each and every student with proper mentoring. I sculpt out every lesson based on the student's individual learning style and needs. One of the most important aspects of my tutoring consists of practice, practice, practice. Whether it is in athletics or academics, we will not achieve excellence unless we practice and prepare for excellence. I leave you with an open invitation to ask me any questions pertaining to my services and a quote I live by. "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit." -Aristotle
I have completed a BS in Retail Management and a BA in Languages and Cultures. Additionally, I have completed an MA in Archaeology of the Classical Mediterranean at the University of Sheffield in the UK. My mission as a tutor is to help students to fully comprehend, memorize, and be as successful in Latin as they possibly can. I am extremely patient and will do whatever it takes to help you become better at the language.

I served 7 years as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force in charge of air traffic controllers and airfield management personnel. I am excited to share my experience with taking the NCLEX, various study strategies that I learned while in a demanding 12-month accelerated nursing program, and my experience as a graduate nurse in a Level II trauma center. I am a big proponent of understanding the 'why' behind pathophysiology, signs, and symptoms, and nursing interventions. Trying to memorize everything is impossible and will not help you pass the NCLEX, however, if you understand the concept and pathophysiology, you can usually get the right answers and be way more successful.
