I am an undergraduate engineering student. Currently, I am pursuing a career in software engineering. I have a couple years of experience in tutoring students for standardized tests (PSAT, SAT, Subject SAT, etc.) and highschool subjects. I also have years of experience working with students of all ages from volunteering in various stem camps as a counselor. During highschool I spent a lot of time learning how to tackle challenges and I love passing on my knowledge so that other students can be successful as well.

I'm a Chemical Engineering major at the University of Texas at Austin with a strong passion for teaching. I enjoy helping students in biology, algebra, and chemistry, focusing on building meaningful relationships that make learning engaging and approachable. Teaching not only strengthens my own understanding but also allows me to see the impact of confidence and curiosity in others. Outside of academics, I love staying active through hiking and playing sports like basketball. I also enjoy exploring new food spots, which gives me a chance to connect with different cultures and experiences.

I am currently an incoming freshmen at the University of Texas at Austin where I will be receiving as B.S. in Psychology! I just graduated from an early college program, the Texas Academy of Math and Science, where I earned both my high school diploma and Associate degree.

I'm a student at UT Austin and I really enjoy working with students and helping things finally click for them. I've worked with kids in places like Kumon and STEAM programs, so I'm used to explaining things in different ways depending on how someone learns. I try to keep tutoring relaxed and encouraging. A lot of students already know more than they think, they just need things broken down a bit differently or a little more confidence to work through problems on their own. That's usually what I focus on. I'm especially comfortable with math, reading, and test prep, and I like helping students build strategies they can actually use instead of just memorizing steps. My goal is to make sessions feel productive but not stressful.

I'm Amanda, a current computer science student at the University of Texas at Dallas. I heard about Varsity Tutors through a friend, and am excited about the opportunities it affords.

I am a student at the University of Dallas studying towards a double major in Business and Mathematics with a French Language and Literature Concentration. I achieved near-perfect scores on both the ACT and SAT, and I am passionate about helping students score well on these exams to pursue their higher education goals. I have always been a high-achieving student, and I was my high school's valedictorian, a National Merit Commended Scholar, and a Presidential Scholar Qualifier.

I am a college student enrolled at North Lake College. I hope to transfer to the University of Texas at Dallas within the next two semesters and complete my degree in Computer Science. When I was in high school. I tutored students on certain subjects such as Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Biology, etc. While I have a great interest in Math and Science, I can tutor other subjects such as English, History, and Standardized Tests. I understand what students go through being a student myself, so I know the pressure of standardized tests and how stressful it can be to get a good score. It was stressful for me too, but with enough practice, I was able to get a great score from my ACT and continue my education. In my spare time, I enjoy watching and playing sports such as Basketball, Football, and Soccer.

I am a junior at the University of Dallas in Irving, TX majoring in English Literature and concentrating in Italian Language and Literature. I tutor Italian at the university in addition to tutoring at Varsity Tutors in addition to being a full time student.

I am a graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. I received my Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering in 2003. Since graduation, I have worked in the areas of Transportation, Environmental, and Structural Engineering. I have also tutored part time since 2006 upon moving back to Dallas, TX. My main areas of focus within mathematics include Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Algebra III, College Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Elementary Math, Middle School Math, and Chemistry. My tutoring sessions are tailor made to each student focusing on both strengths and weaknesses while adding an element of fun. I am a firm believer in exhibiting the utmost patience with each student as well as making sure each student has a firm grasp of the the subject material. In my spare time, I am an avid reader, personal trainer, and jazz musician.

I am an interdisciplinary educator with an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. My background is primarily in integrated arts learning and museum education and I specialize in visual arts, history and art history, and object-based learning. In all subjects, I take a creative, inquiry-based and learner-centered approach, designing opportunities for each unique individual to meet their learning goals.

I'm not tutoring or buried in my textbooks, you will either find me rock climbing at the Triangle Rock Club, playing Ultimate Frisbee, working on my car, or enjoying the great outdoors (beaches, mountains, forests--you name it, I love it). On rainy weekends I enjoy tinkering with computers and old electronics, playing Pokemon, or picking at my guitar.

I am a recent graduate from a masters program in biostatistics at Columbia University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in biological sciences, with a focus in neurobiology at Northwestern University. In August, I will be starting a doctoral program in biostatistics at NYU. I was a teaching assistant at Columbia University in my department and also have tutored graduate students and undergraduates privately as well. My primary areas of tutoring are math and statistics coursework in addition to math sections on standardized tests such as the GRE and GMAT. I am very passionate about helping students feel more confident and excited about math. In my spare time, I enjoy running, playing piano, and spending time with friends and family.
