My name is Nathan Rose and I am currently a Junior at Lamar University in Beaumont. I am studying Mechanical Engineering, so it may be obvious that I enjoy math! I know that math doesn't come easy to a lot of people, so I am excited to take this opportunity to help you achieve your goals.

I am a graduate of Baylor University with a Masters of Education in Reading Specialist. I worked in the field of education for 28 years, 13 as a Special Education teacher in the resource classroom in middle school and high school and then 15 years as an Educational Diagnostician. I love to read and to instill the joy of reading in students. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and curling up with a good book.

I love students, and I love to see students light up when they have a "lightbulb moment," and that's what I want to give to the students I serve. I want to see you learn and enjoy what and how you're learning. I love to create lessons that are engaging, interactive, and connects learning to living. I believe the lessons and skills we will remember or the lessons we've experienced. I was a middle school ELA teacher with a certification in ELA/Reading. I am a graduate of University of Houston-Downtown, and I am pursuing a graduate degree in Counseling from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. As you might expect, I love reading. Books have taken me to places I can only dream of, it has given me a wealth of knowledge, and I can hold dinner conversation with anybody (lol). I love traveling and spending time with my family. I want to help as many scholars as possible realize their greatest potential. Reading and comprehension is key in every subject, and I want to help you learn skills that will aid you in and across content.

I have recently completed my master degree in Chemical Engineering. I have over 4 years of tutoring experiences with broad range of subject in Math and Science for high school and college students. I always want to help students to overcome their weak area and also assist them to discover their own potentials or strong expertise. I have few industrial experiences during my internships, and I would love to share with my students about college life, especially chemical engineering experiences in school and in industry.

I am a lover of life, learning, and love. I strive to increase the capacity to learn as well as the enjoyment of learning. I continue to strive to increase my knowledge and wisdom to share with those around me.

I like math and the critical thinking that it involves. I see math problems as little puzzles to be put together and solved, and puzzles are also one of my favorite hobbies. Math problems can often be solved in more than just one way, and finding different ways to solve one problem is something that always keeps math interesting for me. Math, in my opinion, is one subject that can help develop the ability to see different perspectives of a single situation.I am a certified Texas Teacher. I have taught math in K-4 and in high school. I have also taught special education in these grades, as well. Reading and writing education are also on my list of strong points.I am a good tutor because I strongly think that with proper attention and patience, all students can understand and dominate math.

I am an enthusiastic and caring educator who seeks to apply my knowledge, skills, and expertise to promote the academic and social successes of all students. I have over 12 years of experience working with students of all ages in educational settings with proven success in developing strategies that reach students' hearts and minds.

I am a graduate of Lamar University with an M.A. in English with a focus on writing and an M.Ed. in Education Administration. I have been both a junior high/high school English teacher and a college English instructor for 11 years. I've also taught P.E., Speech, Professional Communications, and Theater Arts. Also, I spent 2 years as an administrator for an elementary school campus. In addition, I have been a freelance copywriter/content writer for 5 years. While I tutor a wide-range of subjects, I'm most passionate about helping students become better writers. I believe that strong reading and writing skills will help students be successful in whatever they do. Also, I believe that every student can succeed if given the proper support and motivation. That's why I got into education and why I continue to tutor students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and watching fantasy and scifi, exercising, and writing both fiction and digital content.

I graduated with a masters in Electrical Engineering from Lamar University, Texas. I have been actively looking for a teaching position where I can excel using my skills and expertise. Teaching has always been one of my passions, which led me to start off as an undergraduate teaching assistant back in 2010 at North South University. I taught Electrical Circuits and Engineering Mathematics to undergrad students and helped faculty members in their course related works. Furthermore, my teaching has continued throughout my masters at Lamar University. In particular, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for The College Readiness Math Department where I taught a variety of math courses from basic algebra to calculus to freshmen college students. These experiences have only enriched my learning acumen and have integrated me well into the life of a teacher.

I am a graduate Lamar University and Walden University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Family Consumer Sciences and a Master of Science in Public Health. I have been a public school teacher for 9 years teaching 4-8 English Language Arts and Reading and Career Tech 6-12. I am passionate about English Language Arts and Reading and love to witness students "Aha" moments. I aim to bring engagement, fun, and academic achievement to every learner I have the opportunity to work with.

As a teacher with 10 years of experience, I am excited about the opportunity to apply my skills and experience here at Varsity Tutors. In addition to my Masters in Education, I have found history, government and economics extremely exciting and linked together in many respects. I also have 3 years experience teaching history and government to high school students. What I have learned through that experience was that to get kids to understand and value historical events, I had to make these events come to life. I implemented unorthodox teaching strategies such as combining film, biographies and historical accounts together to make these events memorable for them. I am passionate about teaching and helping students come to love the act of learning and I would cherish the opportunity to transform the way your students view history, government and economics.
