I am an undegraduate math major and CS minor at University of Maryland, College Park. I tutor math at all levels and mostly focus on math, but can also cover theoretical CS, programming in Java & C, and basic physics. I've tutored students in high school through the math honor society, and continued tutoring in college through the Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Education. My long term plan after graduation is to enter grad school, get a PhD in math, and eventually become a math professor, researching and lecturing throughout the whole process.

I first began tutoring when I was in high school. There was just something about helping others learn difficult concepts that really appealed to me. I thought I might have wanted to become a teacher of some sort and went into UC Berkeley with these intentions.Since then, I fell in love with science and research and decided that I would go to medical school. I am currently pursuing a degree in material science & engineering from the University of Connecticut. After I receive my undergrad I plan to go on to get my masters then hopefully my Ph.D. At school I tutor one on one, mostly math but also some engineering courses as well. Prior to college I would volunteer at an after school program in my town where I would help the students there with their homework. I have a strong background in math and due to previous jobs I also have excellent communication skills as well, so I am very comfortable working with new people.Outside tutoring, I like to spend the majority of my time outdoors, whether it's out on a hike, doing something active, or just relaxing. I'm also an amateur computer programmer, and I like to work on small projects in my spare time. Currently I am working on designing a plane and programming it to fly using a arduino micro-controller and python.I look forward to meeting new students and spreading the fun of math.

While working towards my degree at UMKC in Mechanical Engineering I have taught statistics, calculus, algebra, trigonometry, physics, and prepped for tests like the ACT with everyone from my 10 year old nephew to my classmates in school. I don't think that science and math has to be as intimidating or scary as the world makes it out to be. Often times if we don't understand something, it's simply because it hasn't been explained to us in a way that caters to our strengths. I love math and the predictive nature of numbers. If I'm not in school you can probably find me in front of the box score of a basketball or football game trying to make two completely different worlds make sense together.

I am a graduate of St. John's University, New York. I received my bachelor's degree in Computer Science in 2017 and my MBA in Business Analytics in 2018. My programs gave me a firm grasp of mathematical concepts and their applications in real world scenarios and so I am confident teaching various levels of Math.I have been tutoring for about 4 years. While in College, I held a position as an on-campus student tutor for 1 year. I tutored Math classes such as College Algebra, Matrices, and Statistics and also Computer Science classes. In College, I also volunteered with 2 after school programs simultaneously for 2 years. There, I provided tutoring and homework help in Math and Reading Comprehension to students in Elementary, Middle, and High school. I provide both in-person and online tutoring for students in Kindergarten to 12th grade. I tutor Math, Reading, Writing, and ELA. I most especially love to teach Math. In my time tutoring, I found that a lot of children find Math to be difficult, even scary. I too used to find Math scary! But I realized that this fear of Math is really a result of a negative and unenthusiastic mindset towards the subject. Since my time in college, I've sought to help students, most especially children, change their mindset towards Math and grow to love the subject as well. I really enjoy tutoring children in Elementary school because of their overall sunny disposition and their enthusiasm when learning. My personal and academic backgrounds have fueled my passion for effective education, which I believe can impart both knowledge and interest to a student. As such, I have worked as a tutor at Kumon for over 4 years, teaching students of all ages and watching them grow and succeed. My college peers often sought my help to parse difficult concepts into understandable pieces and to offer intuitive approaches to problems. I treat teaching and learning as an exercise of clear, open communication; the better the communication, the more appropriate the pace of learning, the greater the understanding between the teacher and student, and the more comfortable the learning experience becomes.
