About Me

I graduated from Northern Arizona University with Bachelors of Science in Biology and Chemistry with departmental and liberal studies Honors. I am now pursuing graduate school with an emphasis on Behavior and Evolutionary Biology, and as such my favorite subjects to tutor are science related. I feel that success in a subject is directly related to an individuals interest in that subject, so my first goal is to always help a student discover what they think is interesting about the subject. Once an interest is formed, appreciation and understanding easily develop. My approach to tutoring subjects that center around problem solving, such as Chemistry and Physics, is to go over a variety of example problems and learn all the different methods to solving such problems. For subjects with more abstract concepts, such as Biology, Biochemistry, and other Life Science topics, my emphasis shifts towards understanding the broader picture. Outside of academia I spend a lot of time rock climbing, backpacking and doing whatever it takes to just be outdoors.
