Varsity Tutors provides one of the best online Orlando USMLE course options available today. The United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) are a series of three standardized tests required by most medical licensing authorities in the US in order to practice medicine legally. These exams are cumulative, so you'll need to remember everything you've ever studied at a local medical school like the University of Central Florida College of Medicine if you hope to do well. As you probably already know, that is a lot of material. If you feel like you could use professional assistance with your test prep, reach out to us to learn more about how we can help students like you.
What concepts can I study during an Orlando USMLE prep course?
The topics you study largely depend on which Step, or part of the USMLE, you're preparing for. If you're taking Step 1, you are preparing for a lengthy multiple-choice science test that covers everything from the renal system to behavioral health. You have seven hours to answer 240 multiple-choice questions, meaning that you need to maintain your concentration for a long time. However, questions are split between seven 60-minute blocks, meaning that time management is of the essence despite the length of the exam. Your instructor can show your class proven test-taking strategies to help you work quickly without rushing.
Step 2 is divided into a Clinical Knowledge test and a Clinical Skills test. The Clinical Knowledge exam has a similar format to Step 1, except you have to answer even more questions (316) over eight hours. The Clinical Skills test is a practical exam measuring how effectively you can communicate with patients and colleagues alike. If you're an introvert who isn't looking forward to getting graded on your social skills, you can role-play scenarios with your classmates so that you understand what is expected of you.
Step 3 is divided into two days. On Day 1, you have approximately 233 more multiple-choice questions to answer over six hours. Unlike the other exams, these questions center on medical fields such as oncology and pediatrics instead of more general scientific knowledge. On Day 2, there's a mix of multiple-choice items (180 divided into six 45-minute blocks) and computer-based case simulations designed to mimic the experience of working with patients in real time. Your instructor might have your class go through practice simulations so that you have some experience making important medical decisions before your testing date.
Why should I take an Orlando USMLE course?
When you sign up for our Orlando USMLE class, you will be joining a dedicated group of students and an expert teacher on our exclusive Live Learning Platform. You can see and hear everyone in the class through our platform, creating the illusion that you are in the same physical space even if you're the only one in the Orlando area. As such, it's just as easy to ask for clarification as it would be in person.
You can also communicate with your fellow students, and that's a good thing. Many students find that working in a collaborative learning environment where everyone is free to help each other out makes it easier to learn difficult concepts than trying to study on your own. For instance, one of your peers may suggest an action plan for a virtual patient that you never would have come up with on your own. If a similar scenario shows up on your Step 3 exam, you'll be better prepared to handle it.
You can also split the cost of your Orlando USMLE class instructor with your new friends, making expert instruction more affordable for everybody involved. If you ever feel as though you could benefit from individualized attention to overcome a particular learning obstacle, you can also arrange private study time with your teacher on an as-needed basis.
We understand how busy you are, so we've designed instruction with the value of your time in mind. Since everything takes place online, you never need to waste any valuable study time commuting. We also offer several class sessions concurrently, including two and four-week sessions to make it easier to find a fit for your lifestyle. New classes start up every month as well, so it's always a good time to get started.
