Following apprenticeship at major New York law firms (including the then largest law partnership in the world), I established a succession of midtown Manhattan law practices. Ive been on all sides of deals having represented buyers and sellers, lenders and borrowers, owners and officers. At Jamaicas national university, among other things, I delivered lectures to Bachelor of Laws students and provided administrative support as a curriculum designer and physical plant strategist.I was born and attended primary school in Kingston, Jamaica, migrated to the USA and completed prep school at Phillips (Andover) Academy in Massachusetts. My post-secondary education includes an A.B. degree in Economics from Princeton University, a Juris Doctor from Fordham Universitys School of Law in New York City, and a Certificate of Legal Education from Norman Manley Law School. Currently, I'm earning a Masters degree in Real Estate Development from NYU's Schack Institute of Real Estate.I have traveled extensively throughout the Americas, Europe and Africa spearheading capital financing search missions and other ventures. I speak Spanish comfortably and am familiar with Italian, Portuguese and French. While setting up an export company in Tanzania in 2007, I became literate in Kiswahili and continue to study on my own.

I graduated with a BA in English from the University of Colorado in 2001. Since graduation, I've been in the education field working with students in elementary and middle schools. I am considering a masters degree, but will first need to decide which of the many opportunities I shall take. I really enjoy tutoring math and writing. Math is incredible -- I love how numbers are meant to work out to a perfect answer and when students that I tutor "get it" I feel greatly rewarded. Writing is an excellent way of expressing ourselves and should never be intimidating or "scary". So, in those moments when students feel accomplished in writing, I feel like the world becomes a little bit better somehow. My approach to tutoring students is to make education less of a chore or a burden and more of an opportunity for enrichment. Without proper and fun education in our lives, we would not only be constantly reliant on others to take care of us, but life would also be extremely boring. In my spare time, I enjoy my family. I have an equally (if not more so!) nerdy husband of 14 years, and together we have two beautiful kids (ages 7 and 10) and two high-maintenance but cherished dogs. We are often playing board games, rollerblading to a park together, or volunteering with our church.
