I am a recent graduate of the University of Oklahoma, from where I received my bachelor's in biochemistry. I started tutoring in high school, working mostly with elementary school students on their reading and math. Since then, I've also loved assisting students with ACT prep as well as learning English, as well as many other subjects. Tutoring has given me a way to grow and learn just like the students I tutor.

I have been an English teacher for the last ten years, teaching at grade levels from middle school through college. I have a true love for writing and encouraging young writers to grow in their craft. Whether working with students on their writing or their journey through literature, I am most concerned with developing independent, critical thinkers who have found their own voices.

I make every effort to support individual learning by engaging curiosity, purpose, and a person's desire to be his or her own best teacher. Having taught elementary though graduate students for over 19 years, I offer a wide variety of helpful strategies. A lifelong learner, I hope to encourage others to be the same.
